ABOUT THE ROLE

The Accounting Assistant (Temp) will use organization and detail orientation skills to research information related to the escheatment process and to aide in the filing of returns for unclaimed property. The Accounting Assistant (Temp) is responsible for review and research of items such as uncashed AP and payroll checks, which will include an analysis of the invoices processed to determine the accuracy of those invoices and payments. This position will perform analysis utilizing the Company's accounting software system, Hubble, Microsoft Excel, and Power Apps data base. The incumbent for this temporary Accounting Assistant position is scheduled to work 40 hours per week for a total period of 25 weeks.

Essential Functions

  • Maintain accurate records of property, correspondence, and reporting
  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies
  • Work with Accounts Payable, Payroll, and Customer Service teams to gather information
  • Research invoices for possible duplicate
  • Power Apps data base for details regarding status of checks
  • Correspond with vendors and employees regarding uncleared checks
  • Respond promptly and accurately to internal and external inquiries
  • Regular and predictable attendance
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Essential functions of this position are to be performed at a Company-designated office or field location
  • Understand and comply with the Company's Code of Business Conduct and Ethics Policy and other industry-specific professional and ethical standards

ABOUT YOU

Qualifications

  • Minimum 1 year of data entry, office administration, or accounting experience is required
  • Experience with accounting software or ERP systems (e.g., E1, Hubble, Power Apps)
  • High school diploma or GED is required

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

  • Understanding of general accounting principles, reconciliations, and ledger management
  • Ability to analyze and manage large datasets, including transaction histories and aged liabilities
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel for sorting, analyzing, and formatting data
  • Knowledge of unclaimed property reporting is a plus

  • Pay is $25.00 per hour
  • This is a Temporary, Non-Benefit eligible position
