Video: What We Do

We're looking for an Director of Engineering to lead our Engineering Department at our Chromalloy Phoenix site. You'll oversee development projects from start to finish, manage resources, and monitor costs and expenses. Your role will involve creating solutions using your technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and fostering a culture of innovation to boost our site's performance.

What You'll Do:

Leadership:



  • Lead projects focused on new product introduction (NPI), process improvement, and rework reduction.
  • Prioritize projects based on company goals, industry trends, and new technologies.
  • Collaborate with other Engineering Directors in the region.



Product/Process Development:



  • Join technical discussions with key customers.
  • Monitor engineering productivity, quality, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Work closely with manufacturing operations for successful project implementation.
  • Partner with site functions for compliance and decision-making.
  • Lead the introduction of new products/processes to improve business metrics.
  • Coordinate manpower and project requirements for timely, budget-friendly completion.
  • Provide reports and presentations on project impacts.



Process Optimization:



  • Continuously review and improve engineering processes.
  • Promote Operational Excellence using problem-solving methods and CI tools.



Coaching/Mentoring:



  • Lead, coach, and mentor the site team.
  • Communicate to align actions with company goals.



Experience & Education:



  • BS Engineering minimum in a Mechanical, Materials or related engineering discipline
  • 10+ years' experience in Aerospace or Industrial gas turbine engine engineering (design, manufacture, or repair)
  • 5+ experience of supervising a technical team of 10+
  • Proven ability to lead and deliver projects while interfacing effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Proven experience of problem solving both technical and leadership issues to resolution.
  • Detailed knowledge of gas turbine design, manufacturing, or repair processes, as appropriate for the site product family, is preferred.
  • Proactive mindset to identify project and program risks and constraints, and to develop effective mitigation strategies
