Strategic Commodity Sourcing Manager

Summary

Collaberates with suppliers for assigned items, supplies, and/or materials for assigned group or platform.

Responsibilities

Analyze and evaluate external price trends and new product offerings to reduce overall purchasing costs.
• Collaborates with suppliers to assure the quality of their products, materials, components and/or operations and develops supply recommendations.
• Ensures suppliers can meet forecasted demand.
• May coordinate efforts in the reduction of purchasing/engineering costs and establishing cost for new products. Continuously explore the cost improvement ideas through VA/VE in close coordination with suppliers.
• May participate in design and/or technical reviews. Must understand technical aspect of casting machined parts should be able to convey the requirements to suppliers.
• Actively interviews the current and new suppliers to maintain a competitive supply base for the commodity assigned, may select, recommend, and manage relationships with major suppliers, vendors, or sub-contractors to ensure the organization receives satisfactory standards of service.
• Resourcing parts strategically to obtain the best total cost, quality, delivery for the plants
• Manage key supplier relationship, Conduct Monthly/Quarterly business reviews with the key suppliers and generate ideas of cost improvement through regular involvement /participation from suppliers.
• Other related duties as assigned

• The annual salary range for this position is $84,000-$125,000 (Actual salaries will vary and will be based on various factors, such as skill, experience and qualification for the role.)

Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline. (Engineering preferred)

A minimum of 8-10 years of relevant experience.
