GENERAL PURPOSE: The Senior Design Manager is a hands-on leader responsible for overseeing and contributing to the execution of creative work supporting marketing, sales and new product launches. This role is highly collaborative with cross-functional teams to bring marketing initiatives to life through creating compelling visuals, while also managing and mentoring a small team of designers and a copywriter. The ideal candidate would be someone who can jump into projects directly, elevate ideas into compelling campaigns, guide others through the process, and help improve workflow to ensure projects are produced on time, on budget and on brief. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND Responsibilities:
- Responsible for bringing concepts to life through compelling creative including print collateral and digital ensuring alignment with brand strategy, project request, and product positioning/messaging hierarchy.
- Deliver a consistent and differentiated brand voice, look, and feel that represents the brand and assortment in a way that is captivating and relevant to our customer.
- Digital design focus ensuring the best user experience across landing pages, PDPs, A+ content, advertising, videos and social for a cohesive brand experience on our own channels as well as marketplaces.
- Direct photography and video produced in partnership with external production resources.
- Maintain our brand standards across a variety of assets, including content & collateral, email, social, ads, photography, video, and web to help drive engagement.
- Delegate creative projects across the team, managing timeline, additional resources and overall prioritization of work in alignment with business objectives.
- Support key product launches, programming, and marketing initiatives.
- Partner with sales team to support and enable solution-selling marketing initiatives, lead generation campaigns and other sales tools.
- Stay up to date with the latest design trends and technologies and share insights and best practices with the team to create a culture of continuous improvement
- Outsource and manage additional creative resources as needed while tracking our expenses ensuring we stay within budget.
- All other projects as assigned.
MANAGEMENT DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage, train and mentor a small team of designers and a copywriter by providing guidance and motivation that enables their success and establish a positive working environment.
- Provide direct reports with appropriate support, training and tools to enable their success.
- Provide and establish clear priorities and goals for direct reports and set professional development plans.
- Conduct quality employee performance reviews to evaluate performance to ensure the requirements of Luxor are met, and that high performers are challenged with additional responsibility.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
- Ability to manage direct reports, and extended teams of agency resources effectively.
- Strong organizational skills who can work independently and collaboratively on multiple projects while prioritizing tasks efficiently.
- Strong problem solver.
- Strong written & verbal communication skills.
- Strong digital design background including A+ content, video, social, and web.
- Experience creating and evolving brand guides, style guides, brand voice and tone, and brand architectures.
- Experience directing photography and video content.
- Experience with physical products, print/package design and retailers is a plus.
- Knowledge of social media platforms and trends.
- Knowledge of digital marketing practices, including SEO and A/B testing.
- Expertise with Adobe Creative Cloud, Microsoft Office, and other design and editing tools.
- Ability to collaborate with a team remotely.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- Bachelor's degree or 10+ years of work experience in Graphic Design
- 5+ years managing a team of internal and external creative resources
- Digital and print focused portfolio
Computer equipment and level of software requirements:
- Expertise with Adobe Creative Cloud, Microsoft Office, and other design and editing tools
- Asana or similar project management software experience preferred
SALARY RANGE
- $115k - 125k Base + Bonus
