This position reports to

R&D Engineer

Your role and responsibilities

In this role, you will manage and execute processes to assess and declare compliance of our products to applicable material regulations for our US/LATAM region. Working in a fast-paced environment, you will leverage your project management and compliance/risk management knowledge to translate complex issues into opportunities. This role will include interacting with and influencing a variety of internal and external stakeholders including R&D, Product Management, Engineering, Procurement, Quality, Legal, Sales and other partners.
The work model for the role is: Onsite
You will be mainly accountable for:
* Execute defined product material compliance activities while working closely with Product Management, Legal, R&D and Supply Chain Management to ensure our products are compliant to all regulations and legal requirements for the markets and regions they are sold in.
* Execute end-to-end processes for actively managed regulations. Including but not limited to REACH, RoHS, Conflict Minerals, Extended Minerals, TSCA, Prop 65, and PFAS.
* Provide guidance to Product Management, R&D and Sales teams on new material regulations that might impact existing products or New Product Development Projects; Be the point of contact on Product Material Compliance for the Region
* Develop and maintain strong working relationships with key stakeholders across functions within Division e.g., Product Management, R&D, Supply Chain Management and Legal; Work with Business Area Product Material Compliance Program Manager to execute product compliance strategies and processes for the Division and Region
* Collaborate with Product Material Compliance Teams in other divisions to develop understanding of each business's direction

Qualifications for the role
  • Bachelor degree in Engineering, Chemistry, or equivalent technical degree PLUS minimum 2 years' experience in compliance programs such as REACH, RoHS, Conflict Minerals, TSCA, Prop 65, PFAS and EU Waste Framework Directive
  • Ability to analyze complex data, and develop evidence-based conclusions and recommendations
  • Strong ability to anticipate future needs of the organization and make decisions in a changing environment
  • Effective communicator through written, oral, and presentation skills
  • Microsoft Office expertise (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams)
  • Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US.
