Offering a rigorous JD program with the flexibility of online learning, St. Francis School of Law is accredited by the Committee of Bar Examiners of the State Bar of California, preparing students for success in the legal field. The Adjunct Faculty- Wills-Trusts-Estates courses cover (1) general and California law regarding probate administration and intestacy and requirements for wills, including holographic wills, revocation and revival of wills, capacity of testators, and doctrines related to the interpretation of wills and will substitutes; and (2) trusts, including both private and charitable trusts, trust creation, fiduciary obligations, alienation, modification and termination of trusts, as well as planning for incapacity. The ideal candidate will possess a Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from a law school approved by the American Bar Association (ABA), accredited by the Committee of Bar Examiners of the State Bar of California, or registered with the Committee of Bar Examiners of the State Bar of California. Admission to at least one U.S. jurisdiction is required, though an active license is not mandatory, provided there has been no disbarment or suspension resulting from formal disciplinary action. Also required, substantial professional work experience in estate planning and probate, preferably in California. Preferred qualifications include prior experience teaching wills, trusts and estates at a law school and expertise in delivering instruction in an online format. California Pay Transparency requires a pay range for all postings. The pay range for St. Francis School of Law adjunct faculty is $1,500 to $4,000 per course. The successful candidate will believe in and support the student first philosophy while contributing to the overall success of Baker College, while acting as a positive role model and brand ambassador on and off campus.
