*Description*
The Fiber Technician is responsible for all aspects of Fiber including but not limited to installing, terminating, testing and splicing. Cabling & Termination Skills: Must possess the ability to: * Install LC, SC, ST, FC, FDDI, SMA and MPO/MTP connectors, for single-mode fiber * Terminate simplex & duplex jumper cord * Terminate & breakout outside plant (single strand / single mode no Multimode) fiber (e.g. Corning/Commscope) * Terminate & breakout outside plant * Terminate outdoor single-mode fiber * Ability to understand and or experience with Splice Matrix * Experience testing fiber using Fluke Tester * Basic copper termination skills * Fully complete all IES paperwork accurately and on time specifically: timesheets, material transfers, work orders, change orders, Job Blog, tool transfers and others as required *Additional Skills & Qualifications* Test using an OTDR, Fluke DTX 1800 * Troubleshoot using an OTDR to identify and correct problems end to end, and Network wide * Provide all documentation required * Label in accordance with IES Standards Splicing: Must have the ability to: * Perform mechanical splicing with all types of fiber cable * Perform fusion splicing with all types of fiber cable * Perform building entrance splices, maintenance space, and direct buried splices *Pay and Benefits* The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $35.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
