JOB TYPE Classification:Exempt Supervises Positions:Yes JOB SUMMARY The Associate General Counsel reports directly to the General Counsel of UVA Community Health (UVACH) and advises on a wide variety of legal and regulatory aspects of UVACH business matters, including, but not limited to, healthcarecompliance, privacy, risk management, contracting, facilities development, administration and all other ongoing and new business interests. Responsibilities and Duties
Analysis:Analyzes processes and creates deliverables to provide information and recommendations for improvements.
Communication:Shares and receives information using clear oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
Continuous Improvement:Demonstrates involvement in the unit's annual and/or periodic assessment efforts designed to enhance the delivery of services
Customer Service:Builds relationships and maintains strategic partnerships with key internal and external stakeholders.
Financial Management:Manages tasks and resources within the department to achieve quality and meet budget requirements.
QUALIFICATIONS Education:Juris Doctorate Degree from an accredited law school required. Experience:A minimum of 7 years of legal practice with healthcare experience required Licensure:Member in good standing of the State Bar of the Supreme Court of Virginia, to include Corporate Counsel Certification, required. Frequent repetitive body movements. Proficient communicative, auditory, and visual skills. Attention to detail and ability to write legibly. Ability to lift/push/pull up to 20 lbs. occasionally.
