Position Details:



  • Shifts Available:

    • 1st Shift; Monday - Thursday, 5:00am - 3:00pm
    • 2nd Shift; Monday - Thursday, 3:00pm -1:00am
    • Weekend Shift; Friday - Sunday, 5:00am - 5:00pm


  • Pay Range: Up to $38.00/hour (depends upon experience, skill set, and shift schedule)
  • Shift Premium:

    • 2nd Shift = $2.00/hour
    • WeekendShift = 15% of Base Wage + $2.00/hour




Essential Duties and Responsibilities



  • Perform welding on carbon steel, aluminum, and other metals according to specifications.
  • Perform stud welding and/or metal finishing as needed.
  • Performs plasma cutting, ox-fuel cutting and other carbon arc gouging.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, welding symbols, and technical drawings to determine welding requirements.
  • Completes weldments using weld fixtures according to welding procedure specifications (WPS).
  • Set up welding equipment, adjust machine settings, and select appropriate filler metals for each job.
  • Inspect welds to ensure quality, accuracy, and compliance with industry standards.
  • Verifies position of metal components in assembly table, using straightedge, combination square, calipers, and rule.
  • Identify and repair weld defects.
  • Monitors machinery for appropriate usage and temperature.
  • Performs first piece inspections in accordance with company quality procedures.
  • Conduct routine maintenance on welding equipment and report any malfunctions or necessary repairs.
  • Work collaboratively with welders, fabricators, machine operators, and quality control personnel to ensure customer specifications are met.
  • Follow company policies, safety protocols, and quality assurance guidelines to ensure compliance with industry standards.
  • Accurately log job information into ERP computer system.
  • Accurately fill out required operations and quality paperwork.
  • Trains employees on fundamental manual welding operations.
  • Cross-trains and operates robotic weld equipment as needed.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

Education: High School Diploma or equivalent

Experience and/or Training:



  • Minimum 2 years of experience and/or training in production manual welding position.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience and/or training in lifting device use (forklift, crane, jibs, hoist, magnets, etc.).
  • Knowledge and experience of GMAW (Gas Metal Arc Welding).
  • Must obtain necessary weld certifications.
  • Proficiency in open table fit-up operations.
  • Proficiency in math (adding, subtracting, converting decimals, and fractions).
  • Proficiency in measurement skills (tape measure, protractor, height gauge, and caliper).
  • Mechanical aptitude.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints.
  • Proficiency in interpreting weld symbols.
  • Knowledge of reading, writing, and understanding work instructions, work orders, or customer specifications.


Preferred Qualifications

Experience and/or Training:



  • Knowledge and experience of GTAW (Gas Tungsten Arc Welding).
  • Prior exposure to lean manufacturing.
  • Exposure to Shoplogix data entry.
  • Knowledge of aluminum weld operations.
  • Knowledge of GD&T.


Physical and Mental Demands



  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee must frequently sit, stand, walk, and use hands to finger, handle, or operate objects, tools, or controls.
  • Must be able to stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and move between work areas.
  • Regularly required to talk and listen, as well as climb, balance, and reach above shoulder level.
  • Specific vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and depth perception.
  • The employee must be able to lift and or carry up to 50 lbs. frequently.
  • Travel: Not Applicable.

Working Environment

Work is performed in a manufacturing environment where loud noise exposure is regular and frequent. Additionally, there is a regular exposure on the production floor to dust, metal debris, changes in ambient temperature, and requires the use of appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
