DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this vital position, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and security of the Corrections Community Center (CCC). Your responsibilities will include maintaining daily activity and visitor logs, monitoring re-entrant behavior through both individual and group interactions, as well as utilizing the Closed-Circuit Television (CCTV) system. You will also be tasked with conducting and documenting re-entrant counts, fire drills, and both scheduled and unscheduled searches of re-entrants, their belongings, and communal areas for contraband. Additionally, you will manage the inventory of re-entrant prescription medications, security equipment, tools, toxic chemicals, and housekeeping supplies. It is crucial to provide orientation for new re-entrants at the CCC, which involves reviewing Department of Corrections (DOC)/CCC policies, rules, and regulations, informing them about available public services, and assigning rooms and housekeeping duties. Upon reentrant return to the CCC, you will administer and document breathalyzer tests and urinalysis tests. This role requires the ability to effectively communicate and establish positive working relationships with reentrants that support their successful release back into the community. - Full-time employment
- Community Corrections Centers are staffed by three (3) work shifts that cover the facility 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
- Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Additional Requirements:
- You must be able to work in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.
- You must have the ability to work different shifts or irregular scheduled hours.
- You must successfully complete classroom training at the DOC Training Academy in Elizabethtown, Pennsylvania.
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Preferred Qualifications (not required):
- Two (2) years of experience performing public safety or security work. (Examples of qualifying experience include but are not limited to public safety or security work involving protection of persons and/or property and maintaining required security through enforcement of rules, regulations, and laws; public safety or security work in a correctional setting, juvenile, or adult development/detention center, law enforcement entity, or military security experience)
- One (1) year of work experience providing direction/guidance to individuals. (Examples of qualifying work experience include but are not limited to performing as a lead worker or supervisor assigning and evaluating work tasks, providing informal counseling, or giving orders in the Military)

- You must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.
