SHP), Department of Rehabilitation and Movement Sciences at Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is inviting applications for a full-time faculty position for the Occupational Therapy Doctoral (
OTD) Program. This faculty position is an open rank position.
SHP is one of eight schools that are part of Rutgers Health (RH) the premier health sciences institution in New Jersey. The
SHP Department of Rehabilitation and Movement Sciences is a multidisciplinary department that houses the Rutgers Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy and Speech and Language Program and in addition has dedicated research faculty. Rutgers is an internationally ranked and recognized University that is a member of the prestigious
AAU and the Big Ten conference.
Through this faculty appointment, the school wishes to build on that strong history by increasing its capacity for excellence in clinical practice, teaching and research. As a Center for Rehabilitation Excellence, this Department is focused on the evolution of our clinical spaces and labs, being in the forefront of education in physical and occupational therapy and speech-language pathology and conducting research to optimize patient care and outcomes. Our faculty are national and global leaders in their fields. With all three programs housed within the Department of Rehabilitation and Movement Sciences there are wonderful opportunities for student interprofessional education and faculty collaborative research and scholarship.
The faculty member will provide innovative and responsible leadership for all aspects of the design and delivery of coursework in this 8-semester, entry-level OT doctorate program. This is a 12-month appointment. Applicants will be considered with all areas of occupational therapy expertise, but priority will be given to those with experience and interest in teaching foundational occupational therapy topics, professional practice, mental health and adult rehabilitation. |

Qualifications
Minimum Education and Experience |
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Doctoral degree from an institution accredited by a USDE-recognized regional accrediting body
- Minimum 5 years practice experience
- Prior experience designing learning experiences and assessing outcomes in community-based settings across the lifespan with persons who have a variety of conditions
- Demonstrated professional leadership (local, regional or national)
- Demonstrated skill in mediating multiple stakeholder needs
- Strong community networking skills and team collaboration
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- OT License or eligible in New Jersey
- Current NBCOT certification

Faculty members must be appropriately credentialed, possess earned degrees from an accredited institution and be licensed or license-eligible in NJ to teach in the

This job is primarily sedentary with occasional lifting, carrying, pushing or pulling. Have close visual acuity for working on a computer (e.g., extensive typing and reading). Job requires possibly frequent interruptions or distractions with a need to adjust priorities quickly as circumstances dictate. Ability to interact appropriately with colleagues for different purposes in different contexts. |
