Responsible for assisting the Parent-Child Counselor (Educator) in the planning, implementation and evaluation of all Parent-Child activities.

Job Description

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Attendance at staff meetings in which information about parent-child interactions, observable assessments/referrals, and activities of the Parent-Child Center is shared with the treatment team.
  • Collaboration with the Parent-Child Counselor (Educator) in the development of curriculum and activities for parents.
  • Providing childcare for children while parents are attending group sessions, as well as during emergency situations.
  • Assist with completing children's intake forms, immunization records, pediatric appointments, and filing of all children's medical records.
  • Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with the core values of the University.

EDUCATIONAL/TRAINING REQUIREMENTS:

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 25 credit hours or equivalent in early childhood education, child development, special education, developmental psychology, childcare, or a related field is desired.
  • Associate's degree in one of these fields is preferred.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum of one year of experience in group work with young children is preferred.
  • Experience working with parents is desirable.
