The Quality Technician provides support, development, and coordination of quality control processes included within the manufacturing processes. Assists with the development and deployment of Quality Systems and tools to ensure all products meet customer requirements and are in compliant with technical specifications. responsibilities:
- Follow all company established methods, policies, rules, practices, and procedures to ensure employee safety, product quality and efficient operations
- Provide quality technical support to operations ensuring consistent application of quality fundamentals and the Computerized Quality System
- Provide feedback and direction on Quality concerns
- Conduct laboratory tests and analyses to ensure product compliance
- Drive compliance to Control Plan & PPAP requirements
- Conduct quality control audits with focus on historical complaints to ensure effectiveness of the internal specifications
- Participate in internal and external audits
- Assist in the determination of root cause and corrective action of quality issues with customers, suppliers, and internal departments
- Assist in the monitoring of the calibration program through inspection of gauges and measuring equipment
- Conduct raw material testing on a periodic basis and maintain a log to provide communication to departments on a regular basis
- Train production staff on quality control procedures
- Ability to perform other duties assigned
qualifications:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Highly organized and analytical with relentless attention to detail
- Ability to perform assigned tasks independently with limited supervision
- Proven ability to multi-task and finish projects accurately and on time
- Strong math skills
- Excellent interpersonal and good communication skills which include the ability to teach and explain methodologies
- Knowledge about measurement and test equipment
- Ability to learn new processes in a fast-paced environment
- Experience with ISO standards.
- Basic understanding of MS office applications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 1 year experience in Quality systems (Preferred)
Position Demands: Conditions are that of a manufacturing environment:
- Air Temperatures can range from cold to hot.
- Atmosphere may contain dust, fumes, and odors.
- May include mechanical, electrical, chemical, and explosive hazards.
While performing the duties of this job the employee must meet the physical demands:
- Be able to lift a minimum of 60 pounds.
- Be able to push or pull heavy objects up to 250 pounds.
- Be able to work 12-hour shifts.
- Perform repetitive tasks.
- Routinely stand, sit, hear, walk, and talk.
- Reach, climb, bend, kneel, crouch, twist, and balance, sometimes in awkward or tight spaces.
- Have good close vision, depth perception, and the ability to focus.
Employees are required to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) including:
- Safety shoes (steel toe or composite toe)
- Protective Gloves, when performing certain tasks
- Hearing Protection, when required
- Other personal protective equipment as required for certain tasks.
