SCOPE:

As a direct report to the Chief Development Officer, the Vice President, Corporate Engagement will lead the March of Dimes (MOD) Corporate team in driving revenue to support our mission. The Vice President, Corporate Engagement will manage a team of 4+ individuals responsible for identifying and securing financial resources from major corporations nationwide in support of MOD programming, ongoing operations, and strategic growth initiatives. Our nationwide footprint of 30 markets, including DC and Puerto Rico offers a multitude of fundable programs, activities and engagements for the top brand and corporations of our nation. In this role, the Vice President will be a leading voice and representative for, driving revenue and improving the health of all moms and babies.

This role is responsible for the full cycle of a results-driven pipeline development and management portfolio with a primary focus on sourcing and sustaining new corporate relationships (in the six and seven-figure level and above) and ensuring their team builds pipelines and closes commitments.

The VP in this role will seek partnerships that align with the organization's values and principles. This is an ideal opportunity for a relationship-oriented fundraising leader with a track record in new business development, lead generation, and sales strategy to help an organization dramatically scale its impact.

Travel: Approx. 25%

Location: Full-time Remote, U.S.; Must be Major Airport Centric

People Manager: This position is responsible for managing upwards of 6 direct reports.

RESPONSIBILITIES

New Business Development Strategy and Implementation



  • Individually identify and pitch (in-person and virtually) new corporate partners capable of making 6-7 figure /multi-year financial commitments. Ensure leads are aligned to the organization's three-year Strategic Plan. Position will have a personal revenue goal and portfolio of significant new business.
  • Lead the new business vertical of corporate & cause partnerships team to meet qualitative and quantitative goals.
  • Drive technical and new business strategies, including training development and roll out across organization as appropriate.
  • Develop customized and nuanced value propositions, proposals, and cultivation strategies for priority accounts and prospects in collaboration with Mission, with particular focus on those that involve the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Chief Medical and Health officer (CMHO), MOD Board and other Senior Leaders.
  • Partner with key stakeholders within MOD to package opportunities into sellable engagements for sustainable fundraising results.
  • Support the efforts of the (CEO and CMHO) by attending and following up on public engagements that offer high-level networking opportunities for prospecting and pipeline development.
  • Maintain an eye towards building relationships with new / under-represented industries including tech, insurance, pharma, labor unions, sports & media and more.
  • Work with MOD Marketing and Communications teams to ensure pitch approach tells the story of impact and promotes success stories in line with programming initiatives.
  • Attend relevant corporate partner and MOD events, conferences, or webinars to discover new initiatives and/or to identify prospects aligned to MOD strategic growth pillar.
  • Influence the trajectory of the MOD strategic plan by ensuring individual and department meets or exceeds annual revenue goals.
  • Lead personal sales outreach, including daily activity to manage an active pipeline, schedule pitch meetings, create proposals, and manage the prospect moves management.
  • Utilize strong presentation and persuasion skills to build trusted C-suite level relationships and to leverage those relationships to unlock revenue.
  • Engage leaders throughout the MOD Network in plans for executing integrated partnership opportunities and to bring >$500K proposals/agreements to scale.
  • Constantly observe the market to identify emerging companies and sectors that could be strong membership prospects and manage to a best-in-class standard of cultivation and solicitation of corporations (corporate foundations, CSR divisions, and sponsorships).
  • Develop and implement aggressive solicitation of corporate support; develop and maintain knowledge of corporate giving interests, staff, and trends.


Portfolio Management & Sales Enablement



  • Build and maintain an individual new business pipeline ratio of 4:1 and ensure team to support new philanthropic revenue annually.
  • Cultivate and deepen relationships with corporate foundation leadership and senior corporate leaders to successfully secure investments at an increasing level of significance (year over year).
  • Maintain the strategic partnerships process and account management cadence across the Network utilizing Salesforce and other internal project management resources (Asana, SharePoint, Teams).
  • Ensure activation concepts align with mission-centered engagements, employee engagement, and consumer activation trends
  • Collaborate with other members of the MOD corporate engagement team to ensure alignment on point-of-sale, cause marketing and other partner expectations, goals, and anticipated results.
  • Ensure support for the key deliverables of the organization including National sponsorship, year-end giving, key affinity month activations, donor impact and reporting (annual report, Roosevelt Society recognition), advocacy opportunities.
  • Lead revenue generation by managing personal portfolio of high-level multi-year national corporate partners.
  • Research, identify, and investigate new opportunities for funding from a wide variety of sources to expand and diversify the donor base and lead to six and seven figure partnerships with sustainability.
  • Work collaboratively and effectively with senior growth executives and leadership to develop and leverage organization wide processes, practices, and capabilities to accelerate growth.

  • Serve as a subject matter expert in building corporate alliances.
  • Assist in new business training efforts across the organization to advance corporate alliances
  • Standardize best practices and create and utilize standard metrics and measurements across the department. Creating new business dashboards to track and analyze data.
  • Demonstrates a commitment to cultural diversity and inclusion that reflects MOD's commitment to DEI.
  • Provides consistent follow-up regarding assigned projects and after meetings.
  • Manages related and other duties as assigned in support of department and business needs.



EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:



  • Education Level: Bachelor's Degree in nonprofit management, business, marketing, communications (or related education) OR equivalent relevant experience.
  • Years of Related Work Experience: A minimum of 10-15 years of demonstrated successful resource development support, sales and/or account management experience and successful partnership close rate of $2,000,000+ annually; History of success with planning, managing, and initiating corporate relationships with the nonprofit sector and success in six-figure partnership support and execution preferred
  • Skills and Knowledge: Ability to manage complex, sensitive matters with high attention to detail, excellent people, team, verbal and written communication skills; highly organized in approach with ability to set and manage priorities; ability to work independently in achieving results consistently on deadline


VP/SVP level will be determined by candidate's experience.
