Job Overview
The Sr Credit Analytics Specialist is responsible for managing the quarterly Allowance for Credit Losses (ACL) process and managing various projects involving the Credit Analytics Group. This position manages and supports the preparation and analysis of certain credit quality reporting as outlined below.

Job Description
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:


  • Prepare and support the quarterly ACL (including the Specific Reserve loan analysis, quantitative loss rates, economic and non-economic Q-Factor reserves) monthly and quarterly credit quality reporting and assigned projects, including credit concentrations, commercial and consumer dashboards, and various ad-hoc report requests emanating from internal or external sources.
  • Participate in ACL methodology process including design, testing and implementation of model modifications and enhancements.
  • Serve as a back-up to the Credit Portfolio & Analytics Manager (in his/her absence) to manage the department and provide support for other functions and responsibilities as assigned by the department manager.
  • Manage projects involving credit quality reporting and automation of existing CRM processes; along with other projects assigned by senior management.
  • Manage and support ad-hoc reporting concerning emerging credit-quality and credit risk issues.
  • Ensure Credit Analytics procedures are updated to reflect process revisions, enhancements and new vendor software releases.
  • Coordinate efforts with various bank departments (including Finance, Accounting, Risk Management, Business Units and Loan Review) to enhance monitoring and measuring of the bank's asset quality using the automated LLA database.
  • Build and sustain relationships with key personnel within Accounting, Consumer Loan Administration, Loan Administration, Risk Management and Commercial Lending, Internal Audit, and the Bank's external auditor.
  • Serve as a point of contact and support for both internal and external audit.

Requirements
Required Skills:


  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills.
  • Experience with the Allowance for Credit Losses (ACL) process including the CECL
  • methodology, and/or loan impairment processes (FAS 114).
  • Advanced Microsoft Office Suite skills, with emphasis in Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Experience working with report writer systems.
  • Strong organization skills with attention to details.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively and develop relationships with various departments, and external auditors.
  • Ability to develop and execute detailed project plans to ensure goals are met in a timely manner.
  • Knowledge of commercial lending.


Required Experience:


  • High School diploma
  • A minimum of 5 years of work experience in a commercial banking environment involving: ACL process OR credit analytics.


Preferred Experience:


  • Bachelor's degree
  • Project management experience involving implementation of financial reporting-oriented systems.
  • Experience working with probabilities of default (PD) and loss given default (LGD) metrics.
