Job Overview

The Senior Manager, Media Sales drives advertising revenue growth across a broad portfolio of clients spanning multiple categories. This role serves as a trusted partner to brands, agencies, and internal Macy's stakeholders by developing impactful media strategies that support both client goals and revenue growth for Macy's and Bloomingdale's. Acting as a consultative sales leader, the Senior Manager collaborates closely with merchandising and marketing partners to deliver customized solutions that maximize client performance.

This individual leads all sales-related activities, including presenting capabilities, analyzing client needs, creating tailored proposals, and leveraging campaign insights to inform future strategy. In close partnership with cross-functional teams-including Media Planning, Analytics, Product, and Finance-the Senior Manager ensures seamless planning, execution, and measurement of campaigns.

In addition to managing key accounts directly, the Senior Manager oversees and develops a high-performing team of Media Sales Specialists who manage small to mid-size accounts. The Senior Manager provides strategic guidance, coaching, and support to help the team grow existing business and acquire new clients.

What You Will Do



  • Lead and develop a high-performance team responsible for managing over $40MM in revenue.
  • Proactively create media investment recommendations for key accounts by analyzing multiple data sources, including sales and receipt plans, historical spend, customer trends, and past campaign performance.
  • Understand client objectives and seasonal business opportunities; propose strategic media mix and audience targeting recommendations that align with their goals.
  • Embrace a "one team" mindset by collaborating closely with cross-functional partners-such as Merchants, Account Management, Media Planning, Campaign Management, and Analytics-throughout campaign planning, execution, and measurement. Prioritize lead times and downstream impacts when launching new campaigns.
  • Manage a high volume of campaigns with strong attention to detail, ensuring all client-specific requirements are met consistently.
  • Evaluate campaign performance to identify growth opportunities and deepen client relationships.
  • Actively listen to advertiser needs and share feedback with the product development team to support ongoing innovation and enhancement of Macy's Media Network's offerings.
  • Foster an environment of acceptance and respect that strengthens relationships, and ensures authentic connections with colleagues, customers, and communities.

Skills You Will Need

Consultative Selling Expertise: Proven ability to understand client needs, develop tailored media strategies, and drive revenue through strategic recommendations.

Team Leadership & Development: Experience leading, coaching, and developing high-performing sales teams; strong people management and mentorship capabilities.

Strategic Thinking & Business Acumen: Ability to assess market trends, client business cycles, and customer data to inform proactive media planning and investment strategies.

Media & Audience Strategy Knowledge: Deep understanding of digital and audience-based advertising, including retail media networks and performance-based media buying.

Cross-Functional Collaboration: Skilled in partnering with internal teams (e.g., Merchandising, Media Planning, Analytics, Product) to ensure campaign success and client satisfaction.

Campaign Management & Execution: Capable of managing a high volume of complex campaigns with precision, ensuring all client-specific requirements are met.

Analytical & Data Interpretation Skills: Comfortable analyzing data from multiple sources (e.g., sales plans, customer trends, historical performance) to drive informed decisions.

Client Relationship Management: Ability to build and maintain trusted relationships with key clients and agencies; focused on long-term growth and retention.

Communication & Presentation: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with expertise in crafting compelling presentations using PowerPoint.

Creative Problem Solving: Brings innovative thinking to campaign design and media planning; adaptable and resourceful in dynamic environments.

Technical Proficiency: Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint; familiarity with ad tech and measurement tools is a plus.

Organizational & Detail Orientation: Highly organized with a meticulous approach to managing timelines, campaign requirements, and cross-team dependencies.

Adaptability & Flexibility: Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities; able to adjust schedule based on business needs.

Who You Are



  • Candidates with a bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in a related field are encouraged to apply. 5+ years of Ad sales experience for on- and off-site media, including selling to key accounts.
  • Regularly required to sit, talk, hear; use hands/fingers to touch, handle, and feel. Occasionally required to move about the workplace and reach with hands and arms. Requires close vision.
  • Able to work a flexible schedule based on department and company needs.
