Summary:

The Sanitation Manager supervises, and coordinates activities of workers engaged in duties concerned with sanitation programs in food processing establishment by performing the following duties:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Inspects products and equipment for conformity to federal and state sanitation laws and plant standards.
  • Oversee the management of sanitation cleaning of equipment and work areas.
  • Inspect and audit premises for unsanitary practices and conditions.
  • Collaborate with plant management and production personnel on sanitation problems and recommend changes in equipment, plant layout, lighting ventilation and/or work practices to improve sanitation standards and purity of product.
  • Compiles required reports regarding regular inspections, sanitation violations, and reports to resolve deficiencies.
  • Uphold company policies and enforce safety regulations.
  • Establishes or adjusts work schedules and procedures to meet production requirements.
  • Collaborate with other departments within the plant to coordinate activities of individual departments.
  • Manage and coach a team of quality sanitation workers, providing training, guidance, and feedback.
  • Collaborate with HR on all employee hiring and disciplinary actions.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Acquires knowledge of Trident's Environmental and Safety Policies by completing required training programs and performing designated work activities in accordance with training and procedures/work instructions.
  • Notifies designated personnel of any environmental or safety incidents or risks not previously documented, in accordance with Environmental Awareness and/or safety training.
  • Maintains inventories of supplies and equipment along with placing orders via purchasing as needed.
  • Train and/or arrange for training of new employees. Maintains a regular schedule of training updates for all employees.
  • Performs other similar or related duties as requested or assigned.

This is a salaried exempt position with an annualized salary range of $80k to $100k.

Minimum Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Four-year degree in sanitation or three to four years related experience within the sanitation industry; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of 3-4 years supervising sanitation employees within a food or manufacturing setting.
  • Minimum of 3-4 years of federal and state sanitation laws that include GMP, HACCP and Environment Sanitation Programs.
  • Minimum of 3-4 years of successfully implementing and standardizing reports, processes and procedures to uphold sanitation and safety standards within a food or manufacturing environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in the seafood industry preferred.
  • Experience with third party regulatory agencies such as BRC, AIB, GFS, SQF, and FEDA.
  • Must be able to work flexible hours, including overnight and some weekend hours.

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms.

The employee is frequently required to climb or balance.

The employee is occasionally required to sit; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear.

The employee moves objects

Specific vision abilities required by this job include distance vision, peripheral vision and depth perception.
