Responsibilities
The Director, Patient Care provides oversight and direction in establishing and maintaining a system for developing, reviewing, approving and disseminating standards of clinical practice, such as quality, education, advanced practice and clinical operations within their respective division, as well as the medical center. This includes, but is not limited to, making recommendations on policy issues and technology needs regarding clinical practice, identifying opportunities to attain superior quality and safety at the best cost, implementing solution sets and ongoing evaluations of performance, as well as planning, directing and evaluating operational performance of the division. Key Accountabilities:
- Provides strategic and financial planning for areas of responsibility. Responsible for the financial performance of areas of responsibility by identifying areas of expense, revenue, growth and excess, including development of operating and capital budgets.
- Provides direction to management staff within areas of responsibility. Actively mentors and coaches direct reports, providing opportunities for personal and professional growth. Provides a supportive environment for team building.
- Provides overall leadership, direction and administration of operations for area of responsibilities. Directs clinical and administrative functions, overseeing the development and implementation of plans, operations and programs within assigned areas. Actively participates in strategic planning, policy formulation, resource planning and facility planning. Remains current with local trends and changes in nursing profession/practice in health environment. Assures effective communication and coordination of initiatives among various teams and matrices within a facility and within NHC, the nursing infrastructure and other medical staff committees and work groups.
- Provide leadership to department management teams to achieve business goals, quality outcomes and customer satisfaction. Utilizes a data-based approach and facilitates innovation and creativity in the identification and development of quality, safety and patient experience initiatives. Engages teams to determine and implement improvements, including construction or renovations of areas. Provides leadership in identifying quality, safety and cost opportunities within the division and developing solution sets based on evidence-based best practices to improve the value of services provided. Leads change regarding quality of care and operational enhancements including implementation and communication plans.
Qualifications
Required:
- Three years management in a healthcare setting
- Bachelor Degree
- Registered Nurse (IN)
