The Department of Surgery, Division of Ophthalmology at Ann and Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago and The Department of Ophthalmology at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine seeks a full-time non-tenure-eligible Clinician-Educator at the rank of Assistant Professor level. The candidate must have their MD degree and be board certified in Ophthalmology with added qualifications in Pediatric Ophthalmology.

The ideal candidate would have outstanding technical skills, a passion for clinical excellence and importantly, the ability to work collaboratively within the Ophthalmology world-class multidisciplinary team. Additional qualities include:

  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and maturity and superb emotional intelligence
  • Strong surgical dexterity and a willingness to learn new procedures
  • Self-motivated to develop his/her own practice and referral pool
  • Team player

The expected base pay range for this position is $350,000 - $400,000.

The displayed pay range represents base pay targets using designated benchmarks, which are reviewed annually. Individual salary will be determined by years in rank, experience, demand within the specialty, additional training, extramural funding, and strength of publication history. Other compensation opportunities vary but may include mission-based, clinical, research, and academic incentives or additional compensation for leadership roles in line with the respective compensation plan.
