Minimum Qualifications
Requires at least a baccalaureate degree in the field. Please contact your Human Resources office for an evaluation of education/experience in lieu of the required minimum qualifications.
Preferred Qualifications
Proficient in administrative tasks and functions and has a general understanding of construction processes and structural trades. One to three years of office and administrative experience in managing operations in a residential, hospitality, medical, or higher educational facility setting.
Position Summary
The project coordinator position ensures the successful planning, completion and implementation of University facility improvements, projects, enhancements and renovations. This includes but is not limited to process management, project budget management, the investigation of project solutions/alternatives, communication with key stakeholders, review of plans and specifications, coordination with vendors and suppliers, and frequent visits to work locations for site inspections. Work is performed under the direction of the Structural Maintenance & Projects Shop Manager and is evaluated through observation in terms of project success and overall mission service to Campus. Activities and decisions will be varied in nature, requiring independent action and sound judgment in solving problems. This position often serves as a field representative of the Operations & Maintenance team when communicating with campus divisions/departments during project meetings and other coordinated efforts.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies

  • Thorough knowledge of the practices, methods, equipment, materials, and tools of the structural trades.
  • Communicates effectively (verbal & written).
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and with initiative to ensure tasks and projects are delivered on time.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, AIM, Onesource, etc.
  • Understanding of technical documents (engineering plans, specifications, drawings, & other technical documents).
  • Ability to multi-task, set priorities and resolve issues quickly.

  • Ability to lift 75lbs.
  • Ability to work in adverse weather conditions (e.g. cold, heat, rain).
  • Ability to work from a standard or extended ladder.
  • Ability to stand, stoop, crawl, climb and work in confined spaces.
