Job Description We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Shipping & Receiving Operator to join our team at our site located in O'Fallon, Missouri. This role is essential in ensuring the smooth operation of our shipping and receiving process for food flavors. The ideal candidate will be responsible for receiving, identifying, and verifying raw materials, as well as managing inventory and ensuring compliance with safety regulations. Training will be provided, but prior experience with forklifts and warehouse operations is a plus. Key Responsibilities:
- Shipping/Receiving: Accurately receives and identifies raw materials and supplies. Verifies counts and takes samples of raw material, in-process, and finished products as required.
- Forklift Operation: Must be certified to operate electric and hydraulic forklifts safely.
- Housekeeping & GMP: Maintains clean and orderly work areas, following Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) to minimize product contamination and damages.
- Hazard Communication & Safety: Knowledgeable of Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements. Responsible for adhering to safety protocols and identifying hazards.
- Clerical & Documentation: Performs necessary clerical work related to inventory and shipping. Must be able to write legibly and complete documents as needed.
- Quality Control: Ensure raw materials and products are handled properly and according to specifications to prevent issues with customer orders or in-process production.
Skills, Training, and Experience:
- Machinery, Tools, and Equipment: Familiar with pumping and filling equipment. Able to safely operate electric and hydraulic forklifts. Basic literacy and math skills required (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
- Materials and Processes: Knowledge of materials, raw materials, and finished products, and the ability to handle hazardous chemicals with appropriate training.
- Computer Skills: Basic knowledge of IFS system and computer operations for inventory and tracking.
Physical Requirements and Conditions:
- Lifting & Dexterity: Ability to lift heavy loads (50-80 pounds) and move dock plates. Must have good coordination for tasks such as securing and blocking loads in trailers.
- Work Environment: Regular exposure to disagreeable odors, dust, and temperature extremes in an un-air-conditioned warehouse.
- PPE: Must wear provided protective equipment, including steel-toed boots, gloves, safety glasses, and hearing protection.

- Hours: Monday through Friday, 8:00am-4:30pm.
- Union Facility: This position is part of a unionized work environment.

- Hazards: This role may expose you to chemical fumes, potential accidents, and physical strain from lifting and moving materials.
- Teamwork: Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision, but also effectively communicate with the Manufacturing Supervisor and team members to ensure smooth operations.
