About the role

The expected hourly rate for this position is $47.23.

Reworld is seeking a dedicated Instrument & Controls Technician to support the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of our West Babylon facility. This role is responsible for the inspection, calibration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of control systems and instrumentation throughout the plant.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain and troubleshoot DCS, PLCs, VFDs, motor control circuits, transmitters, flow meters, level controls, and burner management systems

• Calibrate, install, and test mechanical and electrical instrumentation according to safety standards

• Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on electrical and control equipment (including 480V and 4160V switchgear, motors, and starters)

• Conduct root cause analysis on system failures and document corrective actions

• Support compliance with continuous emissions monitoring systems (CEMS)

• Update preventive maintenance systems and work orders in the CMMS

• Participate in plant outages, emergency repairs, and rotating on-call support

Qualifications:

• Proven experience with industrial instrumentation and controls in a power or heavy industrial setting

• Strong knowledge of DCS, PLCs, VFDs, and high-voltage systems

• Ability to interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals

• Comfortable working in confined spaces, at heights, and in varying weather conditions

• Willing to work rotating shifts, weekends, and be on-call as needed
