Requirements

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:



  • Master's degree in a related field of Human Services, including but not limited to Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, Sociology, or Human Development is required.
  • Completed minimum of two semesters of clinical internship during graduate school and a minimal of two (2) years clinical experience post graduate working with mental health and co-occurring populations. is required.
  • Valid PA Driver's license and clean driving record is required.
  • Group therapy experience, be trained, or certified in one or more Evidenced Based Practice skill sets (Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Prolonged Exposure Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, etc.. is preferred.

Position Details

Merakey was recently awarded Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC) grants to support whole-person care-addressing physical and behavioral health, as well as socioeconomic status, employment, and other social determinants of health. The four-year grants were awarded by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA). A new position under the grant projects is the CCBHC Therapist. This is a unique opportunity for clinicians to gain training and experience in a partially grant-funded position as a therapist providing traditional outpatient psychotherapy, as well as shorter, more directive sessions focused on problem-solving and utilizing techniques such as Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioral techniques, and solution-focused treatment, among others. The CCBHC Therapist serves as a core member of the CCBHC team and works within the team and across programs and services to coordinate whole-person care, including internal services and external referral partnerships. The expectation of billable services is a minimum of 80 hours per month (20 hours weekly) to include both individual and group therapy.



  • Maintain clinical caseload providing outpatient mental health services including Evidence Based Practice to individuals, families, and groups.
  • Interfacing with families, treatment team members, and case management resources as necessary
  • Providing on site crisis intervention as needed
  • Assessing the severity of symptoms related to safety of self and others.
  • Providing necessary case management and case documentation as required
  • Engaging in monthly supervision or when needing to review and discuss high risk clients
  • Notification of and consultation with Program Director of any outside requests for letter, documentation, and appearances
  • Performance of other related duties as assigned.
