This opportunity is in the Business Development department
The Business Development Department serves as a liaison between brokers and underwriters, advocating the position of each to identify production sources and achieve revenue goals within the designated territory. The team is comprised of dynamic individuals who value collaboration, creativity, innovation, and teamwork. Role Description:
If you're a self-motivated, relationship-driven sales professional with a passion for commercial insurance, this role is for you. As a Business Development Manager (internally known as, Account Manager) in our Business Development department, you'll serve as the face of Safety National in your assigned territory-developing, maintaining, and growing strong broker relationships to drive both new business and renewals. You'll work closely with underwriting to advocate for broker and client needs, positioning Safety National as the go-to solution for excess workers' compensation and other commercial lines.

This is a field-based sales role requiring regular travel to broker offices and industry events. Your ability to listen, advise, and collaborate will be key as you identify new production sources, uncover cross-sell opportunities, and increase market share. You'll also use tools like Salesforce to track territory activity, build a pipeline, and document key touchpoints. Success in this role means building trust with broker partners, delivering results against sales goals, and ensuring Safety National remains visible and engaged in the commercial insurance market.

Qualifications:

Education:
A bachelor's degree is required.

Required Qualifications:



  • Must be presently authorized to work in the U.S. without a requirement for work authorization sponsorship by our company for this position now or in the future
  • This position allows for a hybrid work schedule which includes a minimum of 3 days per week in our St. Louis Corporate Office, located at 1832 Schuetz Rd. Saint Louis, MO. All employees are required to submit work from home requests and follow our Work From Home policy, which will be provided to all candidates selected to interview.
  • 2 or more years of commercial insurance or related industry experience
  • Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability and willingness to travel frequently (50% or more)
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and CRM systems such as Salesforce
  • Experience or aptitude for insurance sales and broker development


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Experience in a production or business development role within commercial insurance
  • Familiarity with excess workers' compensation or other specialty lines

Compensation for the successful candidate will consider the candidate's particular combination of knowledge, skills, competencies, experience and geographic location.
