Design, test, and optimize both computer hardware (chips, boards, complete systems) and software (OS, compilers, network systems). You'll join a team working across embedded systems, hardware-software integration, and application performance.

Hardware scope includes:

  • Circuit board and microchip design

  • Supervision of hardware manufacturing and installation

Software scope includes:

  • Operating system and compiler development

  • Network distribution tools

  • System-level performance tuning

  • Application architecture aligned with hardware constraints

As part of the hiring process, candidates complete a live coding session. You'll be assessed using a standardized grading rubric. The focus is on clarity, correctness, and performance

  • 10+ years in computer design, software development, or network systems

  • Proficiency in C, C++, Java

  • Comfortable with legacy languages: Fortran, COBOL

  • Strong foundation in algorithms and performance problem-solving

  • Familiarity with modern development stacks: Python, TypeScript, HTML, JavaScript, and AWS Cloud Development Kit (CDK)

  • Ability to demonstrate software design decisions under time constraints during the coding session

  • Hands-on knowledge of Python, TypeScript, HTML, JavaScript, and AWS CDK for modern cloud-based and hybrid infrastructure
    • Experience participating in technical reviews, configuration management, and documentation processes required for government programs

    • Coding session required as part of the evaluation - standardized rubric used for assessment of logic, clarity, and correctness
