Position Summary

Under the direction of the Manager Volunteer Services, the Coordinator, Volunteer Services is responsible for the oversight, support and evaluation of various Volunteer activities.

Responsibilities

    Sources, recruits, on-boards, trains and retains volunteers - (life cycle of relationship)
  • Utilizes Volunteer Services specific software to schedule volunteers for assignments and shifts
  • Develops, promotes and maintains a wide range of volunteer opportunities within the organization; manages all internal and external project requests
  • Identifies and communicates the need for additional volunteers and/or new volunteer roles.
  • Escalates volunteer problems to supervisor
  • Partners with operational volunteer services team members to meet business needs
  • Assists with organization and implementation of volunteer services recognition programs
  • Ensures that both technical and behavioral/interpersonal competencies are followed
  • Provides operational oversight, coaching, and mentoring to volunteers
  • Identifies opportunities for process improvement
  • Prioritizes workload and projects
  • Prepares and achieves targeted metrics
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties in this job classification
  • Understands and performs in accordance with all applicable regulatory and compliance requirements
  • Complies with all standard operating policies and procedures


Qualifications

Education

  • Associate's Degree required in lieu of required experience required

Experience

  • One to two years of volunteer services related experience, or equivalent experience required

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to apply judgment and good decision-making skills to service based department required
  • Able to organize work to provide productive work flow required
  • Be able and available to work a flexible work schedule as required based on schedule and departmental needs required
  • Ability to write complex reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively with volunteers, donors, employees and external customers of organization utilizing instructive or persuasive skills required
  • Able and available to travel as required based on schedule and departmental needs required
  • Ability to work independently with minimum supervision; multi-task; work with confidential information required
  • Possess a professional demeanor and projection of appropriate professional image; analytical skills; high level of organizational and detail-oriented skills; and excellent communication and customer service skills required
