Position Summary:

As Weld Trainer here at Rotex, you will have the primary responsibility of overseeing, coordinating, and ensuring training for welders, communicating constructive coaching and instructing with purpose. You will play a crucial role in ensuring weld quality at Rotex continues to meet or exceed industry standards. As Weld Trainer, you will have one of the most important roles in contributing to the success of our business and ensuring that the Rotex name continues to be known for quality, skill, and expert craftsmanship. Success in this role means having the ability to grind through challenges, spark engagement, and build a solid arc between training and real-world application.

Work You'll Do:

  • Work with subject matter experts to establish rigorous training requirements.
  • Assist in development of training aids such as tests, manuals, and handbooks.
  • Map out training plans for individual employees as necessary.
  • Track and report on training outcomes.
  • Provide feedback to program participants and management.
  • Maintain employee training records.
  • Handle logistics for training activities including venues and equipment.
  • Order training supplies and materials.
  • Research other training methods and certifications that could be utilized to reduce costs or improve training curriculum.
  • Create/maintain the yearly training schedule.

Team:

Reports to Weld Operations Manager as well as works with the Weld Supervisor and Operations team.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Associate's degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school in Welding and a minimum of 5 years related experience; or a minimum of 10 years related weld experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience with an emphasis in welding.
  • Passion and experience educating, instructing, training, coaching others required.
  • Expertise, skill, education, training, and experience to be considered a Master Welder required.
  • Ability to provide constructive, definable and encouraging feedback / coaching, required.
  • Experience in adjusting weld parameters to ensure quality welds.
  • Able to communicate effectively to different departments in the organization.
  • Experience with nondestructive test methodologies
  • Ability to interpret and implement specification standards.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience developing curriculum, training material and SOP highly desired.
  • Experience in Root Cause analysis desired.
  • Experience working in a Union environment desired.
