Job Summary

The Measurement Analytics & Insights Senior Manager is responsible for supporting the development and implementation of measurement strategies designed to evaluate the performance and impact of strategic investments and initiatives. This individual assists in creating and refining key performance indicators (KPIs) and success metrics aligned with business objectives and contributes to the design and maintenance of measurement frameworks and methodologies. Utilizing standardized tools and templates, the Senior Manager analyzes data to generate insights that track progress against strategic goals and identify optimization opportunities. They prepare and present clear visualizations, reports, and presentations to communicate insights and recommendations to stakeholders while collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure measurement efforts align with organizational priorities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the development and implementation of measurement strategies to evaluate the performance and impact of strategic investments and initiatives.

  • Support the creation and refinement of key performance indicators (KPIs) and success metrics aligned with business objectives.

  • Contribute to the design and maintenance of measurement frameworks and methodologies.

  • Utilize standardized tools and templates to ensure consistency in measurement across projects.

  • Analyze data to generate insights that measure progress against strategic goals and identify optimization opportunities.

  • Prepare and present clear visualizations, reports, and presentations to communicate insights and recommendations to stakeholders.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure measurement efforts align with organizational priorities.

  • Provide advisory support on data sources, including collection methods and frequency.

  • Assist in the development of new KPIs and provide guidance on key results.

  • Conduct industry benchmarking to inform measurement practices and strategies.

  • Identify opportunities for process automation and scalability in measurement activities.

  • Support a culture of data-driven decision-making by promoting the value of measurement in driving business outcomes.

  • Comply with all laws, regulations, and policies that govern the conduct of Genentech activities.

Who You Are

Minimum Candidate Qualifications & Experience

  • 5 years of professional experience in measurement, analytics, or impact assessment roles.

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Analytics, Data Science, Statistics, Economics, or a related field.

  • Familiarity with designing and implementing measurement frameworks, KPIs, and success metrics.

  • Experience in preparing and presenting data-driven insights and recommendations.

  • Proficiency in data analysis tools such as SQL, Python, R, or equivalent.

  • Experience with data visualization platforms like Tableau, Power BI, or similar.

  • Basic understanding of statistical modeling, impact evaluation, and measurement techniques.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Strong ability to explore large amounts of data, identify important insights and build compelling narratives.

  • Persuasive written and verbal communication skills.

  • Experience synthesizing concise summaries focused on key insights that inform business decisions.

  • Comfort dealing with uncertainty in a highly-matrixed organization.

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and communicate effectively with stakeholders.

Additional Desired Candidate Qualifications & Experience

  • Master's degree in a relevant field, such as Business Analytics, Data Science, or an MBA with a focus on analytics.

  • Proven track record of time-management, project management, and teamwork.

  • Experience or internship in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or healthcare industry.

  • Experience in exploring large amounts of data, identifying important insights and building compelling narratives.

  • Familiarity with healthcare datasets (e.g., IQVIA, Symphony, Flatiron) and their application in analytics.

  • Basic exposure to machine learning, predictive modeling, or advanced statistical techniques.

  • Demonstrated ability to learn and apply new analytical tools and techniques.

The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of South San Francisco, CA is $138,810 and $257,790. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law. A discretionary annual bonus may be available based on individual and Company performance. This position also qualifies for the benefits detailed at the link provided below.
