The Base Salary for this position is $110,500. Application Window Open date: May 12, 2025 Next review date: Wednesday, Jun 11, 2025 at 11:59pm (Pacific Time) Final date: Tuesday, Jun 30, 2026 at 11:59pm (Pacific Time) Position description The Division of Clinical Sciences at the University of California, Riverside, is recruiting a Chief Resident within the Department of Internal Medicine. We seek an individual who has distinguished themselves by embodying exceptional clinical & leadership skills, demonstrated over the course of their residency training, and is respected for their clinical judgment, teaching skills, and ability to work collaboratively with peers and faculty. The Chief Resident serves as a role-model, peer mentor, and advocate for the Internal Medicine residents. The successful candidate will teach at both the UC Riverside-affiliated hospital in San Bernardino and the UCR Health Clinic in Riverside and will see patients in conjunction with residents at the aforenamed clinic. Prerequisite Training: * Successful completion or anticipated completion of ACGME accredited internal medicine residency program by the start date Essential Chief Resident Responsibilities: * Lead, moderate, and lecture as part of resident didactic series; manage and coordinate both the noon conference and ambulatory didactic schedule. The successful applicants must qualify for an academic appointment in Health Sciences Clinical Instructor series. The successful candidates must possess an MD or DO. Must be eligible to work in the United States. The successful candidates will also be expected to participate in research, scholarly activities, University, and public service appropriate for the academic appointments in Health Sciences Clinical Series. Applicants must qualify for medical staff privileges at UCR Health and at our affiliated hospitals as needed if inpatient practice is sought. The Base Salary for this position is $110,500. This position includes membership in the health sciences compensation plan (https://somacademicaffairs.ucr.edu/sites/g/files/rcwecm2346/files/2021-02/2021-02-11HSCP%20Plan.pdf), which provides eligibility for additional compensation. At this rank, an initial appointment is limited to one year or less. Initial review of applications will begin on May 30, 2025 and applicants will be considered until the positions are filled.
