Primary Purpose Serves as a liaison between Legal Affairs and Information Technology to prepare, process and review electronic media for investigations and litigation discovery. Prepares comprehensive reports while maintaining chain of custody and control procedures for findings in a manner suitable for courtroom presentation. Minimum Specifications Education Must have a Bachelors degree in Management Information Systems or a related field. Experience Must have six years of experience in direct support of an organizational electronic discovery (E-Discovery) program used to perform collection, review, analysis and production of Electronically Stored Information (ESI). Must have six years of experience in discovery support to include identifying, preserving, collecting, processing and producing ESI. Equivalent Education and/or Experience May have an equivalent combination of education and/or experience in lieu of specific education and/or experience as stated above. Certification/Registration/Licensure Must have a current Certified E-Discovery Specialist (CEDS) certification or equivalent industry certification, background and knowledge within 6 months of placement into the position. Required Tests for Placement Skills or Special Abilities Serve as the expert technical user of current discovery applications, which may include Enterprise Vault, and eDiscovery Platform (Clearwell). Must be well-versed in the Electronic Discovery Reference Model (EDRM) and how organizational processes align with it. Strong analytical, writing and verbal skills. Exceptional attention to detail, organizational skills and problem-solving abilities. Proven experience meeting deadlines and complying with Service Level Agreements (SLAs) while working with confidential information. Experience clearly describing, summarizing and documenting how work was performed. Ability to think critically about the nature of data during the eDiscovery life cycle Experience supporting end-users and performing basic data processing tasks in eDiscovery platforms Ability to communicate technical information and analysis to both technical and non-technical audiences Ability to interpret matter-related information to technical audiences such that end-user requirements are satisfied Must possess outstanding customer service skills. Responsibilities 1. Serves as a liaison between Legal Affairs, Information Technology and other appropriate departments in order to ensure accurate and timely delivery of requested data and/or deliverables. 2. Partners with the appropriate departments such as Legal Affairs, Corporate Compliance and Information Technology to develop, implement and monitor E- Discovery and Data Retention policies, procedures, and practices. 3. Collaborate with the litigation team to develop a discovery plan which documents the procedures for collection criteria (e.g., date range, key words and custodians), review and analysis criteria, and production protocols; for specific matters and for development in to standard operating procedures. 4. Responsible for preparing, processing, reviewing and tracking electronic documents for investigations and litigation discovery. 5. Support the lifecycle of the E-Discovery software platform which includes but is not limited to: coordinate updates to the software, supporting end users, troubleshooting issues, new feature implementations and coordinating with Information Technology to ensure the software meets Information Technology standards. 6. Handles/preserves information and documentation that may be treated as evidence. 7. Summarizes, analyzes, and prepares analysis reports and findings in a clear and concise manner. 8. Manage case matter within Parklands electronic discovery platform which includes, but is not limited to: creating cases; adding collected source data; handling user access rights; uploading data logs; de-duplicating collected source data; Identifying data gaps; merging/verifying data; and assuring electronic discovery production quality in bates numbering and load file creation. 9. Maintains accurate and current records of all aspects of projects related to tracking, specifications, systems data maps, and chain of custody related to litigation issues. 10. Identifies ways to improve work processes and improve customer satisfaction. Makes recommendations to supervisor, implements change and monitors results as appropriate in support of the overall goals of the department and Parkland. 11. Stays abreast of the latest developments, advancements, and trends in the field of E- Discovery by attending seminars/workshops, reading professional journals, and actively participating in professional organizations. Integrates knowledge gained into current work practices. 12. Maintains knowledge of applicable rules, regulations, policies, laws and guidelines that impact Parkland. Documents and maintains E- Discovery policies, processes, procedures, standards and guidelines as required to support Parkland. Seeks advice and guidance as necessary to ensure proper understanding.
