The Material Handler Lead is responsible for the shipment of product to customers, the receipt of incoming materials, and warehousing of raw materials. Accuracy of shipments and inventory, proper receipts of all goods, and meeting all documented service requirements are essential to this position. This team member supports and executes Warehouse initiatives and duties to meet company goals and continuously improve Warehouse efficiency.

What you will be doing:




  • Managing operations: Oversee daily tasks, shipping, receiving, inventory, order fulfillment, and returns
  • Managing staff: Train, and lead staff, and ensure they complete tasks efficiently and safely
  • Managing inventory: Monitor and manage inventory, including conducting regular checks, updating the warehouse management system, ensuring proper put away and proper inventory location accuracy
  • Ensuring safety: Ensure the warehouse is clean and organized, and that safety rules are followed
  • Communicating: Liaise with internal customers and package and freight carriers, and communicate effectively
  • Maintaining equipment: Monitor warehouse equipment and supplies, and order new items when needed
  • Maintaining systems: Ensure that Oracle and other systems are accurate and up to date
  • Report to Warehouse Supervisor: Any issues with staffing, materials, or execution and provide solutions to meet objectives and complete tasks
  • Support company goals and objectives, policies and procedures, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP's), be audit ready at all times, internal / external, remain in compliance with all required company training
  • Ships finish products or other materials, transfers materials between facilities or departments within Oracle in accordance with inventory control procedures, and accurately completes required documentation to maintain inventory accuracy
  • Supports and executes continuous improvement projects using the 6s and Lean Manufacturing (Kanban / water-spider principles) and departmental improvement initiatives
  • Receives and unloads both manually or with equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks or hand trucks
  • Follows all regulatory policies, internal policies, and operates in accordance to required SOPs
  • Operates systems and equipment are required to complete duties, i.e., ERP and other departmental tools
  • Executes multiple project activities concurrently to achieve timeline requirements; use resources effectively and efficiently while adjusting to changing priorities in a start-up environment
  • Ability to establish, build and maintain professional working relationships with all levels of staff, clients, warehouse, shipping partners, and suppliers when applicable
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision, provide guidance, training to other MH-1 MH-2 when needed
  • Demonstrates accuracy, thoroughness and monitors your own work to ensure quality is being adhered to at all times
  • Practice and advocate good safety skills at all times using the Lean manufacturing 6s (housekeeping) methods
  • Perform any additional Material handling duties when asked by departmental supervisor



What you need to be successful in this role:




  • High School Diploma or GED preferred
  • Minimum five to seven (5-7) years experience in a Warehousing or Distribution environment required
  • Experience in lean manufacturing, 6s, Kanban, Water-spider highly preferred, belted in Lean Manufacturing is a plus
  • Knowledge of warehouse operations, shipping (domestic/international), receiving, production, quality, order picking and, packaging and customer service
  • Ability to apply principles outlined in Quality System Regulations (QSRs/GMPs)
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and on-line applications
  • Ability to work well with others in a cross-functional team environment
  • Working knowledge of and experience with Oracle ERP systems required
  • Ability to write work instruction and or procedure when required
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
  • Special projects may require extended work hours where overtime may be required
  • Meticulous attention to detail and meeting deadlines in a timely manner, (OTD) On Time Deliveries to customers internal / external to assure no production downtime
  • Ability to exert moderate physical effort, typically involving some combination of climbing and balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and which may involve some lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling of objects and materials of moderate weight (up to 25 pounds)



Iteris anticipates paying between $22.50 to $25.00 for this role. However, actual pay offered may vary depending on job related knowledge, skills, and experience.
