The Lead Worker Floor Cleaner cleans and maintains the floors of the building in an orderly condition, factory working areas, and washrooms, or premises of an office, commercial, or other establishments. This position provides support to supervisors and team leads. Duties involve a combination of the following: sweeping, mopping or scrubbing, furnishing and polishing floors; removing chips, trash, and other work tasks; dusting equipment, furniture, or fixtures; polishing metal fixtures or trimmings; providing supplies and minor maintenance services; and cleaning lavatories, showers, and restrooms (WDR Summary 11150).




  • Inspect completed work to confirm it meets standards.
  • Cleans hallways, lobbies, lounges, restrooms, corridors, elevator banks, stairways, locker rooms, and other work areas.
  • Cleans floors using brooms, mops, and powered scrubbers. Walk behind and ride-on equipment, floor finish applicator, and floor polishing (burnishing) machines.
  • Polishes metalwork such as fixtures and fittings.
  • Washes windows, door panels, and sills.
  • Empties wastebaskets and cleaning ashtrays.
  • Replenishes bathroom supplies.
  • Maintain a professional work environment.
  • Address and resolve issues from employees and customers. Refer to a supervisor if needed.
  • Responsible for working with a positive team spirit and producing quality work.
  • Responsible for appropriate conduct and demeanor as dictated by Didlake Policy.
  • Responsible for following safety standards and guidelines in the proper use of the equipment and other activities.
  • Sets an example through dependability, hard work, strong business ethics, and personal appearance.
  • Requisition supplies and equipment from the Supervisor.
  • May be required to train other employees on how to properly use, troubleshoot, and perform essential preventive maintenance on equipment.
  • May fill in for general cleaning staff as needed and when supervisors are not available.
  • Maintains a safe work environment by ensuring employees use equipment correctly and follow safety procedures.
  • Completes required paperwork and/or documentation.
  • Completes and maintains all Didlake required training.
