Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and knowledgeable Project Director specifically to lead our disability review operations. This role is responsible for overseeing contract management, supervising case review staff, and coordinating with licensed medical professionals through subcontracted partnerships. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in federal disability programs, particularly SSDI and SSI, and ensure all case reviews align with relevant federal regulations.

  • Leadership & Culture: Leads by example through servant leadership; promotes the company mission, vision, values, and brand; fosters a positive, inclusive, and accountable culture; establishes a motivational and collaborative work environment that drives customer experience and results.
  • Strategic & Operational Oversight: Sets operational strategy aligned with funder, local, and organizational needs; ensures compliance with contractual and programming requirements; interprets funder priorities and develops implementation plans; participates in business development, including contract rebids and new opportunities.
  • Relationship Management: Develops and maintains strong relationships with funders, partners, staff, employers, and other stakeholders; ensures a positive customer experience for all internal and external customers.
  • Communication & Reporting: Communicates key activities and progress to Equus leadership, funders, and Board; administers policies and procedures in line with company and program standards; ensures proper practices in reporting, record keeping, and control systems.
  • Fiscal Management: This position plays a critical role in financial oversight and is heavily relied upon to manage budges, ensure fiscal compliance, and optimize the use of resources to support program success. Oversees financial operations and budgeting; forecasts spending to maintain funding throughout the fiscal year; ensures alignment with local, state, and federal allowances; manages contract investments to maximize services; establishes and reviews cost allocation plans.
  • Human Resources & Team Development: Manages HR responsibilities including hiring, onboarding, coaching, discipline, and training in coordination with corporate HR; sets SMART goals aligned with contract and organizational objectives; evaluates staff performance and organizational impact.
  • Performance, Compliance & Quality: Ensures contractual compliance and operational efficiency; delivers effective training and ongoing support; conducts quality assurance and monitoring to uphold performance standards.
  • Other Duties: Performs additional responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications

- BS/BA in Business Administration, Organizational Development, Project Management, or closely related field of study;

- Operational leadership experience with a minimum of 5 years professional experience organizing, planning, and developing programs and services at a management level, including supervision of others;

- Senior level management experience managing multiple departments/functions/teams, with direct responsibility to executive leadership or a board of directors strongly desired; or equivalent combination of education, experience and demonstrated results as determined appropriate for the specific opportunity by the hiring manager

- Fiscal / financial management experience, operational oversight, and experience managing grants and/or contracts

- Proven ability to manage contractual relationships

- At least 2 years of experience providing operational oversight in a workforce development or human services environment desired, but not required

- Experience in public speaking

- Intermediate level MS Office Skills

- Proof of valid driver's license and liability insurance may be required
