Inside the Role

Provide support for TOS (Truck Operating System) implementation and sustaining activities. To assist in training related to TOS activities. Work with leadership to identify opportunities, execute action plans, follow-up and support production needs as it relates to TOS. Promote a positive lean culture and help drive continuous improvements. Ability to lead Lean/Continuous improvement projects within AMS Cambridge, as well as the ability to travel to other locations to support TOS best practice sharing principles.

  • Perform physically demanding manufacturing duties including: repetitive processes, moderate to heavy lifting, the use of machinery, and following standardized work procedures
  • Conduct monthly auditing activities to include 5s and team board inspections.
  • Facilitate, participate, and support CIW/Kaizen activities.
  • Provide and participate in the education and training of people on the ways to improve the company's products, machines, processes, and overall continuous improvement within the organization.
  • Assists in identification and evaluation of Current State Maps and Future State Plans.
  • Assists in follow-up activities to ensure process improvement objectives, specific goals, and defined metrics are being followed.
  • Communicate effectively to team members, staff, and management.
  • Research programs, materials, and best practices while ensuring TOS tools are being used properly and are understood.
  • Other activities as necessary and/or assigned.
  • Use of computer, forklift, and pallet jack
  • Basic computer skills(Microsoft office, Outlook, etc. )
  • Properly identify component parts by learning identification numbers
  • Adhere to established work rotation plan
  • Complete training matrix for each rotation position
  • Ability to read and understand Work Station Instructions
  • Actively participate in improving work area in terms of safety, quality, attendance, productivity, suggestion activities, housekeeping, and throughout
  • Use computer systems to access company data associated with the assembly process, utilize drawings, bills of materials and specification sheets in both electronic and hard copy
  • Ability to operate hand tools and small power tools in a safe and nondestructive manner.

Knowledge You Should Bring

  • Must be capable of repetitive hand manipulation, grasping and supporting power tools
  • Must be able to stand on concrete for entire shift with repetitive bending, stooping, twisting, reaching and lifting up to 50 pounds.

  • Navision look up of part numbers

  • Ability to work flexible and/or overtime hours as needed.
  • Ability to travel to other locations
  • Strong team player, must be dedicated to the success of the team.
  • Should be a self - motivated person with the ability to multi-task.
  • Strong people skills.
  • Strong computer knowledge, especially in the use of Microsoft Office.
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing/TOS Systems
  • Ability to work in a repetitive motion environment
  • Willingness to cross-train throughout the area
  • Ability to collaborate with a team and work independently
  • Ability to work overtime when necessary
  • Established satisfactory attendance record and performance rating
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • High school diploma or equivalent
