Summary: The Cyber Security Analyst I role is responsible for monitoring, analyzing, and responding to security events and incidents in real-time. Working as part of a larger cybersecurity team, the Analyst helps safeguard the organization's digital assets and infrastructure through vigilance, technical skills, and adherence to security protocols.

Purpose: To support the implementation and maintenance of the organization's cybersecurity framework, ensuring timely detection and response to threats. The Analyst will contribute to protecting sensitive data, maintaining regulatory compliance, and supporting the overall resilience of the company's IT environment.

Responsibilities:



  • Incident Response-helping the organization to detect & respond to threats, including incident triage, response & investigation write-up.
  • Proactive Monitoring-developing detections & tuning across security technologies e.g. SIEM, EDR etc. (best practices).
  • E-mail Security-detecting & responding to phishing threats.
  • Metrics-providing ad-hoc reports & information when needed SME risk-review support for IT.
  • Policy Exceptions-helping the organization to understand where policy exceptions may be required & associated risks.
  • Threat-Hunting-helping the organization to detect & respond to threats using more unstructured methods.
  • Forensics-preserving & collecting evidence/information live-fire/table-top exercises for critical incidents.
  • Red team exercise participation as part of continuous improvement.

Technical / Industry Experience and Qualifications Requirements:

Education-Qualifications, Accreditation, Training:



  • Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field preferred.
  • One (1) or more years of experience in cybersecurity operations, incident response, or SOC environments.
  • Good knowledge of information security principles and best practices.
  • Familiarity with security tools (e.g., antivirus, firewalls, SIEM).
  • Understanding of common security frameworks (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001).
  • Security-related certification (e.g., CompTIA Security+, SSCP, SANS).
  • Exposure to scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell).
  • Knowledge of cloud security principles.
