Position Summary
Assists customers, both internal and external, with the New Service Process. Reviews all new service requests for completeness and order creation including all Commercial and Residential work types. Responsible for all frontline inquiries regarding the status of current jobs in the queue.
Tasks and Responsibilities
- Monitors accelerated residential orders "site ready list". Coordinates activities with scheduling and UED crews ensuring all dates are met
- Query ARM for accelerated temporary, permanent electric/gas residential orders that are created in the WebPortal by builders for new underground service and meter and process orders entering appropriate information and creating map shots.
- Receives AS-BUILTS reports to enter billing information (CIAC), verifies footage of trench installed, size of wire installed and soil conditions from paperwork received. Enters charges in the CIAC window of ARM and once again verify that all tasks are complete to close the order. Reviews team members entries into ARM and verifies CIAC charges are being entered correctly, once verified CIAC is submitted and sent to SAP for billing.
- Monitors Daily Work Status Dashboard for tasks worked properly and monitors AUC (Asset Under Construction) Tab construction work completed for IDSN and IDSS and CIAC that has not been added to work orders.
- Monitors Accelerated Dashboard for work orders worked down incorrectly and will not automatically progress. Monitors jobs sent to construction and have not been scheduled. Monitors and works Accelerated Orders in the ACTIVE BCA TAB - contacts customer verifies if services requested are still needed. Creates refund requests as needed.
- Manages all incoming phone calls and emails for Customer Design and Delivery. Answers questions on to how to start new service for various construction projects, how to get an address, how long the process takes, inspection requirements, cost estimates and availability of service from numerous individual residential and commercial customers, engineers and developers.
- Receives and responds to numerous calls with questions from builders as to the status of their electric, gas, temporaries, and turndowns for underground jobs. Assists team members with questions regarding work orders.
- Contacts builder or electrician to relay specific details of construction related deficiencies for accelerated residential orders
- Process Construction Applications and Creates business partner accounts in SAP. Verifies identification through SAP, Accurint or state data bases, commercial, residential overhead and accelerated work orders are created for gas, electric and temporary work orders as well as Web Portal applications for new construction. Creates BCAs and forwards job packets to intake teams.
- Coordinates accurate addressing with USPS, BCAD and outside entities. Works with outside entities and developers to address new subdivisions creating the addresses in GIS and SAP
- Send Non-Cosa Plats for review to Right of Way and Residential Development.
- Assists with onboarding new employees, contractors and temporary by providing training for each role in IDS.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Knowledge and Abilities
Demonstrated well-developed written and verbal communications skills for interaction within the section, across departmental lines to all levels of personnel, and vertically with management.
Experience in Customer Service

- Possess some technical ability to read and interpret engineering, architectural and construction drawings
- Experience working in SAP, WMIS

Minimum Education
High School Diploma or GED
Working Environment
Indoor work, operating computer, manual dexterity, talking, hearing, repetitive motion. Use of personal computing equip, phone, multi-functioning printer & calculator. Ability to travel to & from meetings, training sessions or other busi-related events.
