YOUR OPPORTUNITY

We have an exciting Processor Sales Representative opportunity in our Merriam, KS office. In this highly impactful role, you will be a key member of the sales team. The Processor Sales Representative is expected to manage a product category. Focuses on meeting personal sales targets, new business development, maintaining customer relationships, and troubleshooting specific customer problems. Must work internally with scheduling, customer service, transportation, and production to make the best decisions for Seaboard's bottom line. Has a solid knowledge of products, their characteristics, and the market. Typically requires a good general education, excellent interpersonal skills, and sales experience.

RESPONSIBILITIES



  • Responsible for promoting and selling fresh and frozen pork and managing daily inventories with Scheduling Department personnel.
  • Coordinate production with scheduling and supervisors at the plant.
  • Evaluate customer formulas and yields to optimize sales realizations.
  • Analyze market conditions for supply and demand and provide information on cash markets.
  • Work with production and QA to resolve customer complaints concerning product specification issues.
  • Manage freezer inventories and sales in your area.
  • Cross-train and provide necessary coverage with all processor sales associates in the department.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required:



  • Detail-oriented, highly organized and able to prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Processor, Industrial or Retail Sales required
  • Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite (which includes Word, Excel, and Power Point).
  • Professional telephone skills.
  • Excellent listening, negotiating, presentation, and analytical skills.
  • Assertive personality with ethics and integrity.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.



Preferred



  • Bachelor's degree in one of the following: Animal Science, Ag Economics, Meat Science, Business or Marketing with 1 -2 years of successful sales, marketing, production or inventory control experience with the pork or meat protein industry.


  • Basic knowledge of a protein packing plant operations and pork product specifications preferred



SCHEDULE Regular business hours and occasionally after hours in the evening and weekends to address business concerns.
