C&S Companies is seeking an Assistant Construction Manager for a project specific role to help lead Project Management and Pre-Construction team in coordinating and administration of general contracting construction project. Areas of focus will be subcontract scope reviews, Project submittals, RFI's coordination, contract support, change orders, scheduling, construction progress tracking and capabilities with construction systems.

Responsibilities



  • Must have a working knowledge of Project Engineering/Construction, as well as company guidelines, procedures, and goals.
  • Strong communication and client services skills are required for this position.
  • The ability to review reports for upper management regarding status of the project, contract documents and construction services is also preferred.
  • Coordinate activities between contractors onsite, resolve contractor coordination disputes
  • Review installation of contractors work for conformance with drawings and specifications
  • Maintain an accurate project record, including a daily log of all project related activities and communications.
  • Review payment applications for acceptance of completed work
  • Review change orders for validation of additional scope
  • Work with design team to resolve contractor's questions or field conditions
  • Maintain an updated set of drawings and specifications
  • Assist in the preparation of project status reports.
  • Develop, monitor and track project deficiencies, including punch lists
  • Develop project schedules and short interval schedules
  • Assist in the management of the project budget


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities



  • Basic knowledge of the construction industry and construction principles/practices
  • Ability to interpret construction plans, specifications, and scope of services.
  • Basic knowledge of construction drawings, contract documents, construction sequencing
  • Basic skills using Bluebeam, Autodesk and ProCore system.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.


Required Education & Experience.



  • Minimum 2-3 years construction experience in an administrative role working on underground and concrete projects.
  • Procore or similar system experience
  • experience in podium build and or garden style type builds, a plus
  • Bachelor's degree in architectural, engineering or construction management, a plus
  • Previous field experience or working on site specific new building, a plus.



Estimated Compensation Range: $50.00 - $55.00/hr*

*Actual compensation may vary based on related work experience, geographical location and market conditions, education/training, certifications, and other credentials, as well as applicable knowledge and skills.
