Postdoctoral Associate - Liu Lab Job Description:

The Broad Institute of MIT & Harvard stands on the leading edge of biomedical research, with a mission to broadly disseminate discoveries and information to the scientific community and the general public. The Broad's research is pursued through a blend of academic and industrial-scale production of genetic, biological, and chemical outputs, with scientists from Broad, MIT, Harvard, and the Harvard-affiliated hospitals working side-by-side.
Within this role you will work with a team of multidisciplinary scientists to deploy gene editing (such as base editing and prime editing), delivery (such as AAV), and protein evolution technologies developed in the lab) Advance current technologies to incorporate new biological and therapeutic models, genotypic readouts, and data acquisition and computational analysis approaches Identify goals, formulate strategies, execute research, and communicate findings Understand the fundamentals of other projects in the lab and serve as a thought partner to Dr. Liu and other lab trainees.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • PhD in Chemistry, biochemistry, biophysics, bioengineering, computational biology, or a related field
  • Strong technical background, rigorous mindset, and creativity in problem-solving
  • Passion for technology development and collaborative science
  • Proven ability to work both collaboratively and independently
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities and strong interpersonal skills
  • Outstanding recommendations from prior research supervisors
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic professional environment with multiple overlapping and shifting objectives
