ARES Corporation is seeking a Data Policy Specialist to provide data policy management services under the Business and Service Management area of the Information, Data and Analytics (IDAS) Service Line in support of the NASA Enterprise Multimedia and Integrated Technical Services (eMITS) contract. eMITS is the Agency's enterprise-level contract creating and delivering multimedia and technical communications through the use of the internet, digital platforms, and IT management for NASA's Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO) and Office of Communications (OCOMM). From photographing rocket launches and recoveries, to producing engaging videos, to information technology management, to using social media to share NASA's message, eMITS integrates services for NASA IT and provides NASA's communication to the outside world. Job Description / Functional Responsibilities

  • The candidate will be responsible for aligning NASA-wide data policies with the strategic development, coordination, and maintenance of uniform data standards and data governance practices to enable consistent implementation across all IDAS services, initiatives, and projects.
  • In order to facilitate the long-term operational efficiency of the IDAS service line, specific responsibilities will include the definition and enforcement of data governance frameworks and data standards, assessment of whether data governance initiatives are required to be documented as a formal NASA Procedural Requirement (NPR), regular engagement with stakeholders and execution of compliance reviews to confirm alignment with data policies, and continually recommending strategic adjustments to data policies as service line needs evolve.
  • Additional responsibilities will include the preparation and submission of various status updates and progress reports to a government dashboard on a weekly, monthly, and quarterly basis.
  • Remote, hybrid, and onsite positions the employee bears travel costs to nearest NASA Center for badging and issue of NASA IT equipment.

Minimum Experience/Competencies/Skills:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to comprehend and synthesize technical topics and specialized information.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively deliver on customer objectives independently and as part of a team with minimal direction.
  • Detail-oriented and critical thinker with the ability to prioritize and manage customer expectations across multiple competing tasks with aggressive due dates.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, OneNote, One Drive), SharePoint, and Box

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with agile project management methodologies and ITIL 4 (Information Technology Infrastructure Library) practices.
  • Familiarity with project management software/platforms (GitLab, Microsoft Planner, etc.)

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree required; 8 years of relevant experience
