Job Summary

The Operations Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day activities of a designated manufacturing area, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives in safety, quality, delivery, and cost. This role is instrumental in leading a high-performing team, optimizing workflows, and consistently achieving or exceeding production targets. Key responsibilities include tracking and analyzing operational metrics such as on-time delivery (OTD), first-pass yield (FPY), scrap and rework rates, and overall equipment effectiveness (OEE). The ideal candidate is a proactive, hands-on leader who drives accountability, champions continuous improvement through Lean methodologies, and cultivates a culture of collaboration and operational excellence. Additionally, this role serves as a critical liaison between production, engineering, quality, and other support functions to ensure the seamless execution of business objectives through effective leadership, clear communication, and sound problem-solving.

Job Responsibilities

* Oversee the day-to-day operations of an assigned manufacturing area, ensuring safe, efficient, and timely production in alignment with organizational goals.
* Ensure product and process quality through effective use of personnel, equipment, and materials, and by enforcing compliance with internal procedures and applicable industry standards.
* Lead, coach, and develop team members by setting clear performance expectations, conducting regular feedback sessions, and supporting career growth initiatives.
* Monitor key performance indicators such as on-time delivery (OTD), first-pass yield (FPY), scrap/rework rates, and overall equipment effectiveness (OEE); take corrective actions as needed to achieve targets.
* Investigate production issues, identify root causes, and implement corrective and preventive actions to improve process reliability and reduce variability.
* Drive a culture of continuous improvement by applying Lean, Six Sigma, 5S/6S, and other operational excellence methodologies.
* Maintain a safe and compliant work environment by adhering to all safety protocols and proactively addressing potential hazards.
* Serve as a key point of contact between manufacturing and other departments such as engineering, quality, supply chain, and program management to ensure effective communication and execution of priorities.
* Support and participate in new product introductions, ensuring readiness of personnel, processes, and equipment for successful launch.
* Represent the department in internal and external meetings, providing updates on production performance, improvement initiatives, and issue resolution.

Qualifications

* Associate's degree in a relevant field, or equivalent combination of education and experience; Bachelor's degree preferred.
* Minimum of 3 years of leadership experience.
* Solid understanding of industrial engineering principles, including 5S/6S and Lean practices.
* Familiarity with industry standards and compliance frameworks (e.g., ISO, AS).
* Proven ability to lead teams, communicate effectively, and influence positive outcomes.
* Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
