*Position: Pension Analyst* *Pay: $22-31/hr* *Location:* Concord, CA *Workplace Type:* On-site *Work Hours:* Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM 120-Day Contract to Hire *Time frame for completion: 11/18/25* *Job Description:* We are seeking a detail-oriented and empathetic Pension Analyst to join our client's team. This role involves providing accurate pension estimates, answering member inquiries, and processing pension applications. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, excellent customer service abilities, and proficiency in handling confidential information. *Description of work to be performed:* * Provide accurate and detailed pension estimates and answer questions from members and union representatives. * Handle inbound and outbound phone calls, providing explanations to members regarding issues. * Assist members with pension questions through the online member self-service portal. * Identify and resolve member issues promptly and accurately. * Review, analyze, process, and verify pension applications and inquiries. * Process retirement applications and verify accuracy of information. * Handle death notices, pension payment verification restarts, potential suspensions, and pension payment void requests. * Reconcile stale dated reports and perform various tasks related to pension processes. * Determine pension benefit eligibility and calculate pension benefit amounts. * Initiate and prepare correspondence to members, beneficiaries, employers, and others regarding pension information. * Perform data entry and correction tasks to update member information and pension data. * Respond to inquiries from active and members, beneficiaries, and employers regarding pension benefits. *Specified productivity speed/number of tasks/amount of material:* * Process retirement adjustments such as post age 70 accrual adjustments and Qualified Domestic Relations Order (QDRO) carve outs. * Review and process suspensible service, rule of 85 calculations, surviving spouse applications, and community share calculations. * Perform and verify required calculations of vesting credit, plan service credit, account balance, service breaks, and other issues. *Top Skills - Must Haves:* * Strong analytical skills * Excellent customer service * Ability to demonstrate empathy, kindness, and sincerity * High level of data accuracy * Timeliness and self-starter attitude * Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and tact * Ability to work effectively in a team environment * Proficiency in MS Office suite *Secondary Skills - Nice to Haves:* * Benefits verification * Knowledge of defined benefit and defined contribution plans *Employee Value Proposition (EVP):* This is a great opportunity with competitive pay in the pension space.
