Position Summary:
Reporting to the Senior Vice President for Real Estate
Development and Capital Operations (REDCO), the Manager of REDCO Administration
is a strategic leader responsible for overseeing financial analysis, budget
management, and operational efficiency within the Real Estate Development and
Capital Operations division. This role requires advanced analytical skills to
provide insightful financial oversight and recommendations to enhance the
division's performance. The Manager will foster a fiscal responsibility and
operational excellence culture, ensuring alignment with university policies and
strategic goals.

Essential Functions:
Financial Analysis and Budget Management:
-Perform in-depth financial analysis to track capital and operational expenditures, ensuring optimal resource allocation and utilization.
-Lead the development and analysis of the division's annual budget ($65M-$125M), providing strategic insights to the Senior Vice President and other stakeholders.
-Oversee the financial management of capital projects, including budget tracking, resource allocation, and policy compliance.

Financial Reporting and Presentations:
-Develop comprehensive budgetary reports for the Senior Vice President to present to the Board of Trustees, shared governance committees, and the university community.
-Manage financial administration for NJIT leased spaces, including cost-effectiveness assessments and budget alignment.
-Serve as the primary point of contact between the division and the Budget Office to ensure seamless communication and collaboration.
-Review and approve new hire proposals (PAFs) and verify budget availability before submission to the Senior Vice President.

Process Improvement and Oversight:
-Implement best practices and industry standards to improve financial management and operational efficiency.
-Lead benchmarking initiatives to identify opportunities for process improvements and cost savings.
-Oversee fiscal year close-out procedures, ensuring accuracy and compliance with university standards.

Team Leadership and Training:
-Leads and directs the work of two or more support staff, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional growth.
-Provide training and guidance to administrative staff on financial processes, purchasing, and compliance.

Additional Functions:
-Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance operational workflows and financial reporting mechanisms.
-Analyze project performance data and provide recommendations to improve financial efficiency and outcomes.
-Liaise with Purchasing, Finance, General Counsel, and Budget Offices to manage financial transactions, procurement, and budget oversight.
-Lead special initiatives, such as benchmarking and process improvement projects, to identify cost-saving opportunities.
-Act as the REDCO liaison to the enterprise resource planning (ERP) system project during the design, implementation, and operation.
-Ensure compliance with budgetary guidelines by closing completed project indexes and creating new project budgets as required.

Prerequisite Qualifications:
-Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or related field.
-6-8 years of progressively complex experience in budget management, financial transactions, procurement of goods and services, and personnel management.
-Extensive internal and external customer service experience and a demonstrated proficiency in providing a positive customer experience.
-Must possess initiative and have excellent organizational, communication, writing, and telephone skills.
-Work independently, exercise discretion, and assume responsibility.
-Proficient in word processing, spreadsheets, and financial management software.
-Comfortable with information technology and have advanced knowledge of MS Office suite of products.
-At the university's discretion, the education and experience prerequisites may be exempted where the candidate can demonstrate to the satisfaction of the university, an equivalent combination of education and experience specifically preparing the candidate for success in the position.

Preferred Qualifications:
-Previous experience in higher education facilities or operations.
-Experience with Ellucian Banner and/or Workday is preferred.
-Possess the ability to learn new computer-based applications.
