Job Description

Performs the full range of work involved in the repair, overhaul, maintenance, testing, disinfecting, cleaning, and operations and servicing of a wide variety of aerial life support compressed air/oxygen breathing apparatus and high pressure pump systems. Disassembles, repairs, replaces parts, reassembles, and/or adjusts oxygen systems. Coordinates the Joint Airborne/Air Transportability Training (JA/ATT) for the Airborne Test Force (ATF), US Army Yuma Proving Ground (YPG), and any other customers deemed necessary. Flies as the O2 Safety onboard aircraft if the intended altitude is above 10,000 MSL and under 19,999 MSL. May be required to fly at altitudes above 19,999 MSL on civilian aircraft. Issues Aircraft Survival and Flight equipment to users and maintains in accordance with applicable regulations. Coordinates with the Government Supervisor of Air Delivery, YPG Test Officers, the Air Force Liaison, USAF Air Mobility Command units and some external customers as necessary to complete the mission. Performs other duties as required to complete the assigned mission. This position is covered under the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
Qualifications

Pay Rate:$35.28

Education/Licenses/Certifications/Experience Requirements:

*Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
*Must have at a minimum of two (2) years' experience working as a member of or in close coordination with military fixed wing air crews.
*Must have at a minimum five (5) years' experience with military life support equipment or be a certified USAF or USN Phys Tech.

Physical Requirements:

*Must pass a pre-employment drug screening and Class II Flight physical prior to hire and maintain Flight status and periodic retests.
*Must be able to wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for work tasks assigned.
*Must be capable of working in extreme weather conditions including summer temperatures peaking around 120 degrees Fahrenheit.
*Must be able to lift up to 50lbs unassisted.
*Must be able to obtain a current High Altitude Physiological card, and maintain currency
*Must meet the physical requirements necessary to perform operations outlined, performed, and stated in the SOPs for Air Delivery.

*Must possess a valid driver's license, without special restrictions.
*Must have dependable transportation and a dependable means of communication.
*Must be able to work all shifts, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed, sometimes on short notice, to support test missions.

Additional Desired Qualifications:

*Knowledge of Airborne operations and a rudimentary knowledge of parachute systems and their component parts.

Terms of Employment & Eligibility Requirements:

*Must be a U.S. Citizen.
*Must possess or be able to obtain a security clearance prior to employment and maintain security clearance for the duration of employment.
*Must be a current TRAX employee or affiliate subcontractor for internal postings.
