CGL is a provider of justice facility planning, design, and program management and maintenance solutions to justice facilities and other public facilities throughout the U.S. and internationally.

A Brief Overview
Reporting directly to the Senior Vice President, the Vice President of Design spearheads new business initiatives and supervises all design activities at CGL. This critical position entails strategically directing design vision, optimizing workflows, and structuring teams to propel CGL to global excellence. The ideal candidate will showcase expertise in design principles, architectural concepts, methods, and building information modeling, contributing to CGL's advancement as a leader in the industry.

What you will do



  • Same as Associate Vice President, plus the following Essential Functions.
  • Displays strong project oversight skills including the ability to review and edit technical reports, presentations, and drawings.
  • Exhibits robust problem-solving and negotiation capabilities while independently pursuing new business opportunities.
  • Proficiently utilizes CGL's internal Project Management protocols.
  • Exhibits senior level knowledge with both employees and clients when discussing internal BIM standards and architectural methods.
  • Recognized as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) within the industry and among clients and peers, confidently speak at conferences, publish SME articles, and participate in/or chair committees.
  • Independently prepares RFQ/P, and develops capture plans for assigned project pursuits with strategic input from Market Sector Director and/or ROL.
  • This position requires driving for the Company using either 1) a Company vehicle, at any frequency from Rarely to Constantly; or, 2) a Personal or Rental vehicle to conduct Company business more than 50% of the time to perform work duties.



Qualifications



  • Bachelor's Degree in Architecture Required
  • Master's Degree in Architecture Preferred
  • 7-9 years Supervisory experience Required
  • 7-9 years Design experience Required
  • Competency in various computer software programs such as Revit, Bluebeam
  • Competency with Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Competency with 3D modeling programs, Rhino, Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign a plus.
  • Requires a detail oriented, self-starter, who takes initiative, prioritize, and multi-task in busy environment.
  • Effective and persuasive leadership, comfortable with all levels of staff, public and other.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and public relations skills to collaborate effectively with officials, staff, and clients across diverse environments.
  • Proficient in life-safety regulations, building codes, zoning ordinances, and architectural standards, with expertise in their practical application to projects.
  • Ability to identify, advocate for, and successfully close 360-degree new business opportunities.
  • Ability to identify and follow-up on project leads, coordinate BD pre-sale activities and build relationships with potential clients using input from Market Sector Director and/or ROL.
  • Ability to negotiate scope and fees, develop fee proposals, and develop MOUs by shadowing supervision of a Market Sector Director and/or ROL.
  • Strong management acumen with the capability to effectively oversee day-to-day project and operational duties.
  • Registered Architect (RA) Required
  • DL NUMBER - Driver's License, Valid and in State Required



Compensation

We are committed to offering competitive and equitable compensation. The hiring range for this position is generally between $137,500 to $178,500, exclusive of fringe benefits or potential bonuses. This position is also eligible for a performance bonus. Final salaries will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, licenses, certifications, and/or experience. In addition to these factors - we believe in the importance of pay equity. Please keep in mind that the range mentioned above is the general Hiring Range for the role. Hiring at the top of the range is reserved for exceptionally qualified candidates. We consider internal and external factors as a part of every final offer. We also offer a generous total compensation and benefits package.
