Job Description The Project Safety Manager will be responsible for oversight of the project safety disciplines and monitor day-to-day construction operations. Duties and Responsibilities 
   Instill Safety as a top priority by monitoring and maintaining a safe work environmentImplement and oversee the Project Safety Program including the development of site safety policies and proceduresConduct training, including new hire orientation and safety meetingsMonitor all heavy construction work for compliance with safety requirementsMonitor and adhere to established budgetary guidelines, and ensure cost control measures are being followedEmbody the Ames approach to Safety, being constantly vigilant of conditions and work practices, being empowered to stop all unsafe workAssess risk management and investigate incidentsProvide and analyze project safety statisticsAssist Project Manager with project setupsCommunicate with client and subcontractorsCollaborate with regional safety teamOther duties as assigned. Experience, Education & Skills 
   Five plus years of experience in a construction safety supervisorial roleHighly knowledgeable in all aspects of civil constructionOSHA 500 or equivalent preferredDegree in Occupational Health and Safety preferredCertification from the Board of Certified Safety Professionals preferredStrong communication skills both written and oralMust have a positive attitude and possess excellent motivational skillsMust have a valid driver's license and successfully pass a security background screening Working Conditions 
   Construction Site Environment - physical ability to stand, walk, crawl, bend, reach and climb. Exposed to high noise levelsOffice Environment - extensive sitting at desk and computer; some standing, bending at the waist, stooping and reaching required; ability to lift 5-20 pounds occasionally Total Rewards People are the most important asset at Ames Construction.  
   Base salary range is $70,000 - $110,000 a year, which varies depending on many factors, including experience, skills, and knowledge.This role is eligible for a discretionary bonus.
