Team Lead

Covington, GA, On-Site

2nd Shift- 3:00p- 11:30p

Hourly Rate Starting at $26.18

Primary Duties:

This individual will be involved in a variety of production and leadership responsibilities to include:

  • Assist the Shift manager in executing the production schedules.
  • Direct daily work flow / assign work to employees.
  • Regularly acts as backup to, or sits in for the shift manager.
  • Operate a mixer, extruder, reactor, or forklift as required
  • Monitor the mood of the team and plant, in general, and bring issues to the attention of plant management.
  • Fill in to give other employees required, scheduled "breaks"
  • Enforce all safety rules
  • Shut down or start up the plant as appropriate
  • Routinely assist in the training of other personnel
  • Enter or direct data entry to the PRISM system, information regarding production processes.
  • Support and strive to attain shift / departmental goals
  • Provide input to manager for performance and competency evaluations, and training requirements
  • Responsible for daily departmental report and housekeeping.
  • Take an active role in team projects such as housekeeping, safety, 5S, Lean Six Sigma, and Dupont "Stop"
  • Work to maximize the effectiveness of the work group
  • Assist upper management in maintaining the highest morale possible.
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements

  • A High School diploma or G.E.D. equivalency is necessary.
  • Three (3) years at HBF as a Production III or combination of related experience in a similar manufacturing environment, and / or post-secondary education, to equal seven + (7) years.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, Material Safety Data Sheets, batch sheets, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to read and assist in writing routine work instructions.
  • Ability to complete documentation correctly.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding and to carry out written and / or oral instructions.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Ability to direct work, coach, and train subordinates and peers.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide positive leadership.

  • Lean Six Sigma training.

Physical Environment

  • While performing the duties of this position the employee is regularly required to stand.
  • The employee is frequently required to walk, climb stairs, use hands to remove or lift boxes, stretch and reach with arms extended, and stoop.
  • The employee must, regularly, lift and / or move up to 50 pounds, alone, and occasionally lift and / or move more than 100 pounds, with assistance.

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, and geographic location.

The salary for this role is Starting at $26.18.
