Summary:

In this role, you will lead the strategic recruitment and engagement of Surgical Services suppliers by effectively communicating the benefits and value proposition of aptitude participation. Your key responsibilities include managing supplier relationships, executing RFP processes, and driving supplier adoption to meet transactional volume goals. You will develop and implement targeted strategies to expand the supplier network and ensure sustainable growth.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and grow relationships with providers and suppliers, focusing on mid to senior-level accounts-to drive satisfaction, increase platform participation, and support strategic business goals.

  • Contribute to and execute strategic plans to improve value delivery, grow account engagement, and expand platform utilization within assigned product categories.

  • Build and maintain a robust sales pipeline by identifying, recruiting, and onboarding new participants, while tracking progress on opportunities and participation commitments.

  • Serve as a subject matter expert on the aptitude platform, demonstrating features and benefits to stakeholders through training, product demonstrations, and ongoing education. Be able to clearly articulate and showcase functionality to stakeholders.

  • Lead ongoing communication and meetings with assigned accounts to understand needs, provide updates, and develop tailored solutions that drive savings, value, and transactional volume.

  • Support the full contract lifecycle, including reviewing participation agreements and legal documentation, renewals, RFP response coordination, and contract maintenance (e.g., pricing, product updates, membership alignment).

  • Partner with suppliers to ensure accuracy and competitiveness of product lines, cross-references, and offers within the platform, recommending improvements as needed.

  • Collaborate with internal cross-functional teams to align strategies, meet external stakeholder needs, and promote platform adoption across the organization.

  • Conduct data analysis and reporting (e.g., financials, ROI, invoice reporting) to identify value opportunities and support business reviews, upselling opportunities, and performance tracking.

  • Support or lead quarterly business reviews (QBRs) with suppliers, setting clear accountability metrics tied to revenue targets and growth strategies.

  • Recommend and implement improvements to products, services, tools, and processes to enhance performance and stakeholder experience.

  • Maintain clear and consistent communication with both internal teams and external partners regarding aptitude development initiatives and progress updates.

Qualifications:

  • Relevant degree preferred in business administration, healthcare management, or a related field that combines both business acumen and healthcare industry knowledge.

  • 5 or more years of relevant professional experience in fields such as healthcare supply chain operations, management consulting, hospital administration, medical device/pharmaceutical sales, vendor relationship management, or strategic sourcing.

  • Must possess comprehensive understanding of hospital operations, organizational structures, departmental workflows, and procurement processes, including knowledge of value analysis committees and purchasing decision frameworks.

  • Strong proficiency in account management and customer relationship skills, with hands-on experience using Salesforce CRM platform highly valued.

  • Excellent collaboration, communication and presentation skills.

  • Willingness to travel.

Estimated Hiring Range:

At Vizient, we consider skills, experience, and organizational needs in our compensation approach. Geographic factors may adjust the range estimate and hires typically fall below the top range. Compensation decisions are tailored to individual circumstances. The current salary range for this role is $88,900.00 to $155,500.00.

This position is also incentive eligible.
