The Maryland Transit Administration (MTA) invites you to apply today to be considered for a position that provides customer service to the citizens of Maryland every day. The MTA is one of the largest transit systems in the United States and is seeking dynamic and energetic individuals to join the MTA team.

The Maryland Transit Administration (MTA) is recruiting for a
Bus Maintenance Supervisor. This essential personnel role operates at a supervisory, technical, and administrative level, with responsibilities that include planning, coordinating, and forecasting personnel needs for the maintenance and servicing of MTA buses and other vehicles.
In this role, the Supervisor is also responsible for tracking employee performance, coordinating random drug and alcohol testing, managing labor relations, introducing new procedures and initiatives, issuing disciplinary actions, and enforcing MTA rules, regulations, policies, and applicable labor contracts.
Bus Maintenance Supervisors directly oversee A, B, and C Repairpersons, as well as Cleaners. They work under the general supervision of a Bus Maintenance Superintendent or other designated official. While existing rules and procedures guide their work, Supervisors are expected to complete assignments independently and exercise sound judgment in interpreting and applying policies to unique or non-standard situations.
This position is subject to 24-hour call-in during emergencies, special events, or severe weather conditions. Work is primarily performed in a vehicle garage environment, which may present hazards, and may also involve travel throughout the MTA service area to perform duties outdoors in various weather conditions. Supervisors must wear daily protective equipment such as uniforms, safety shoes, glasses, and vests, and may be required to use additional protective clothing and gear depending on the assignment.
