PRIMARY PURPOSE

The Logistics Supervisor is accountable to lead the warehouse/shipping functions and personnel within a diverse and fast paced environment. The Warehouse Supervisor manages and oversees all warehouse/shipping operations in a manner that maintains the plant's safety, engagement, cost, productivity, efficiency, quality, and customer service. They will also work closely with Operations, Customer Service and Accounting to ensure accurate inventory of finished goods, packaging and raw materials. They are a key person responsible to develop and maintain inventory practices that meet or exceedour customers' requirements and minimize financial risk to the operation due to errors and omissions in our complex inventory accounting.

This position reports to: Operations Manager

Span of Control: 2-3 Direct Reports


JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Living the safety stand and adhering to safety responsibilities



  • Adheres to, and continuously improves, all plant and position-specific safety policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Ensures a safe, clean, and environmentally compliant work environment and builds a culture where safety is a top priority.
  • Manage workgroup to proactively achieve zero injuries / safety incidents.


Leading and Developing Talent.



  • Engages all teams to collaboratively own the success of the business by contributing to continuous improvement in the areas of safety, quality, cost, productivity, etc.
  • Provides candid feedback on expectations and performance to members of the team on a regular basis, and drives appropriate actions for further improvement.
  • Invests in the growth and development of team members and others to achieve sustained success.
  • Implements and documents corrective action when performance issues occur.
  • Partners with relevant stakeholders to ensure team members are well trained and up to date on certifications required to perform the full scope of the job.
  • Encourage all employees to build strong working relationships and communication through sharing, respect, candor, integrity, innovation, accountability, and fun.
  • Effectively communicates critical plant performance metrics to team members on a daily basis to ensure engagement.
  • Monitors and enforces all facility and corporate policies and procedures.


Managing Operations



  • Lead warehouse/shipping operations and 2-3 personnel.
  • Resource shift to meet shipping and customer demands.
  • Sustain high levels of product quality, with a target of zero SEC's. Root cause SEC issues and ensure proper controls are in place to prevent future issues.
  • Communicate expectations and hold team members accountable for delivering results.
  • Foster an environment that promotes teamwork and inclusion.
  • Maintain plant housekeeping expectations for the shipping and warehouse areas
  • Communicate any concerns or issues that occur during the shift.
  • Hold start of shift huddle to communicate expectations
  • Ensure that shift employees have adequate coverage for breaks while filling orders
  • Ensure verification of inbound and outbound freight
  • Process daily activity reports
  • Holdcommunications as needed with customer service center, transportation personnel, sales force, regional planning
  • Maintain good working relationship with carriers and customers
  • Develop new shipping team members to meet department expectations and requirements
  • Ensure Inventory accuracy
  • Receive raw materials and packaging
  • Conduct cycle counts of finished product and packaging.
  • Close existing process orders and create new ones for schedule changes
  • Support for Plant Controller
  • Work with production and QC to process held ware and blocked stock
  • Work with QC for lot offerings and FG1 certification for orders.
  • Maintain and improve Warehouse organization.
  • Work with corporate support for SAP problems for the warehouse and production
  • Conduct annual inventory
  • Confirm cullet production and adjust BOM as needed to account for batch formula changes.
  • Supports and contributes to plant Total Production Maintenance (TPM) initiatives.



JOB REQUIREMENTS

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:



  • Completed High School Diploma or GED required
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Three (3) years of experience in shipping/warehouse/inventory operations



PREFFERED:



  • Completed bachelor's degree in business, Math, Accounting, or Engineering



KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:



  • Computer literacy-MRP systems (SAP) and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong communications skills (written and oral) to effectively communicate with people across all levels of the organization
  • Attention to detail
  • Experience making high-impact decisions in fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work extended/Flexible hours
  • Ability to prioritize and coordinate multiple tasks and projects
  • Logic, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis skills
  • Build strong team alignment and communication
  • Leads through safety and corporate vision
  • Possesses strong change management skills
  • Can become certified to ship hazmat
  • Pass pre-employment drug screen and physical abilities test
